thought that that was slap you a$$ funny!
Well, yeah, if it was a fan, but a school official or whatever trained hamster they have running the scoreboard has no place doing that and I'm pretty certain it violates NCAA rules. A copy has been sent to Steve Hagwell in case he hasn't already been notified of it.
you have gotta be right about the rule violation part. all the same i found it pretty funny - seeing as i was looking at things from the cornell perspective!:-)
Actually already got mail back from him and the incident will be pursued with the AD's.
wow. impressed at the response time. wonder if anything will come out of it.
Ratfink! :-D Sure, it is in incredibly poor taste - and probably against all sorts of rules, but it is still pretty funny, and probably exactly what all of Houston Field House was thinking.
Age, Are you implying that no one had mentioned this to Hagwell before today? It was either mentioned on the WRPI broadcast and/or on USCHO after the game.
You actually sent this to Hagwell? ::rolleyes::
To what end?
Rich, He hopes that RPI's entire season will be cancelled. This will mean that RPI will not be a TUC, and Cornell's victories over the 'Tute won't count. That must be it. ::rolleyes::
::laugh::
Age, It looks like the trained hamster was at it again on Saturday ::rolleyes:: : http://www.uscho.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=258693#post258693
The quote comment is: "In the second period the soreboard read PRINCETON PENALTY-TWO MINUTES FOR SUCKING. Not very sportsmanlike, but it got a hugh laugh from the crowd."
I can't tell you if "soreboard" was intentional or a typo.
I hope we get a chance to destroy these guys in Placid, god I hate Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.:-(
Yup...someone's gonna get yelled at for that one! :-D
If it continues next year (which I think *highly* improbable), the "Sooooooooooooooooreboard!" cheer *must* be used in Troy. ;-)
Hmmm, so does that mean you're Dartmouth fans for the play-in game? Cause if we win that means the seniors will be playing Cornell one more time - and what's their unbeaten streak against you guys up to? 9 games? ;-) :-D
Although it looks like you won't have to face Boucher either way, as Gastrock will be getting the starting jobs for Dartmouth from here on out.
Just because the RPI scoreboard person is a jokester, doesn't mean we're Dartmouth fans ::nut:: . Because as sweet as it'd be to kick Dartmouth's lilly white @$$e$ all the way back to Hanover... or, well, the consolation game... I for one would still rather face a team we're 2-0 against.
I guess I could look this up myself, but why is Gastrock getting the nod over Boucher? Has he played that much better?
Most of the season ticket holders seem to be somewhere on a continuum between praying and mourning in Houston. Thinking and having fun are frowned upon.
:-/
Houston = the morgue?
Not sure, but after Guadet's failed experiment Friday of starting Yacey, who was pulled after giving up 2 goals in 7 shots, Gastrock came in and played the rest of the weekend, allowing only 3 goals in 75-80 shots over roughly 150:00 minutes. I'm assuming he'll stick with Gastrock from here on out, though I suppose he could play another hunch and start Boucher against Cornell if we win the play-in game.
2 weeks ago Boucher played the SLU game and let in a couple easy ones I think (was on the road, so I'm not positive since Dartmouth's radio guys suck), and was pulled in favor of Gastrock who finished that game and played all of the Clarkson one.
RIP only has one cheer that is actually used during their games. The other near cheers are so half-hearted that I have as stated elsewhere in the forum renamed the place The Morgue (TM). :-P
As you might guess I can sum up the cheer with one word and a few punctuation marks. So the remark on the scoreboard by the engineers of witlessness is very apropo.
Their cheer is:
...sucks
That's correct. Hagwell had no idea about it until I sent the e-mail.
>"Hagwell had no idea about it until I sent the e-mail."
Has he ever had an idea? Or even a clue?
I'm with ya on this one Al!!!!!
:-)
Cause if we win that means the seniors will be playing Cornell one more time - and what's their unbeaten streak against you guys up to? 9 games
No No NO!
I don't know who first posted this nonsense, and why the normally anal fact hounds didn't bother to check it, but it's starting to irritate me now as well. The first game that the current seniors played against Dartmouth, they won, 3-1. Hell, McMeekin even scored. Sheesh. Not like a 6 game losing streak is any better, but this stupid "seniors haven't beaten Dartmouth yet" is blatently wrong.
Mike
Err... *7* game losing streak.
Mike
Who's this "Mike"? :-P
Technically, it's a 7-game winless streak vs. the Big Green -- there's a tie in there. (Yeah, I know, it doesn't sound a whole lot better, but as long as we're trying to be precise here...) :-P So, the seniors are 1-6-1. (Nonetheless, I have a feeling that they'd like to get some payback against the only team to sweep them this season.)
(In the meaningless-but-fun category: Cornell has now won its last 14 non-OT games in a row!) B-]
If you're being technical, Northern Mich and OSU swept them too :-D
Yeah, yeah... I was gonna say "the only league team to sweep them" -- apparently, I shoulda! ::rolleyes:: :-)
Hey don't knock the Shagster. He single-handedly educated HOCKEY-L about the multiple-overtime-games-don't-count-as-ties business a few years back when he was working for the NCAA.
