Title: Harvard wins in OT
Post by: Big Red Colonel on March 13, 2004, 09:44:13 PM
Apparently the officiating in that game (Hansen) and the Colgate game (Kotyra) was awful.

Lets go Red!

Not that the officiating at Lynah was stellar (and I say that despite the 10 PPs we got)...

Bad officiating was in Cornell's favor tonight.

With Harvard winning over Brown, Harvard is back as TUC, and Brown just falls out with an RPI slightly below .500.  This is great for us getting 2 more TUC wins and dropping the TUC loss and tie against Brown.  Losing to Clarkson tonight really hurt us though, since they were a COp between us and Colorado College (who we are currently neck-and-neck with in the Pairwise) and now that comparisson is flipped back in CC's favor. On another note, BU knocked BC out of the HE playoffs tonight...  :-O ... that's gotta be embarrassing for them! Now we have to come back tomorrow and take care of Clarkson once and for all...

With the .005-.003-.001 "good win" RPI bonus we pick up the comparison with Providence that we are currently losing.  All it does is move us into a tie at 14 with Colorado College, to whom we still lose the comparison.

is 005-003-001 the actual pick for bonus points? that was my guess too, but i had absolutely nothing to base it on.

I don't think anyone knows the actual amounts but .005-.003-.001 is a popular guess, as is .003-.002-.001, on USCHO.  I just wanted to illustrate how close the comparison is with Providence, currently the only comparison we are losing to a team below us in the Pairwise.

Unless you count the disallowed goal... according to Adam W, our guy (think it was Hynes?) was pushed into the crease, and it should have been a goal.

Hynes getting pushed into the crease...hmm, that sounds familiar. ::rolleyes::

Hynes was given a lot of cheap shots tonight.  Really took a beating

For real... that seemed to be Clarkson's defensive strategy the entire night... any time we were on the attack and near the goal, push our guy into the crease/goalie. Every time without fail, that's what happened.

I was at the Brom Hahvahd game.  Hansen called a very good game (other than the disputed OT non-goal).  Where did you hear he called a bad game?

Way too much uninformed ref. bashing going on here and at USCHO.
