Title: Downs article
Post by: PapaBear on March 07, 2002, 05:24:49 PM
There is an interesting article on Jeremy Downs in the Syracuse Post Standard this morning.  It looks like the local papers for some of our players are gearing up for The Big Red to make a run!

...middling won-lost record of 59-57-13 and regular-season ECAC finishes of 8th place, 7th place, 4th place and 4th place, respectively.

I could have sworn we ended up at Placid in third place last year, and we beat harvard, the 2nd seed, didn't we? But then again, I don't know what years he is talking about.

Cornell finished 4th, but Clarkson lost to Vermont, so got seeded 3rd in the Tourney.

And of course, we finished in second last year (tournament wise).  Our generally strong playoff performance excepted, we've been only slightly better than mediocre- if that- since the two titles.  A lot of that gets obscured by the always ridiculous final ECAC standings, where going into the last weekend, everybody thinks they can be as high as third.
