According to ESPN and the Blackhawks website, Underhill was signed and called up today. He will be sixth goalie on the Hawks' roster this season. Thibault, Passmore, and now Munro are all injured. Craig Anderson is down in Norfolk. So that leaves Micheal Leighton and now Matt Underhill up in Chicago. Wouldn't be shocked if Underhill got a start in the near future with the Hawks having nothing to lose, especially considering Leighton has been bothered with on and off groin problems the last few weeks. Out of nowhere, but a huge opportunity all the same.

Woohoo for Undy! :-D
Wow. The guy goes from the ECHL to the NHL in about a month? Good for him!

Right place at the right time, I guess.:-)
any possibility of underhiill starting tonight?
But Leighton is playing
According to the ESPN article on last night's game, Chicago's other goalie, Adam Munro, is "out indefinitely" with a concussion sustained this past Wednesday. So for now, at least, it's Leighton and Underhill.

Undy's gone from the ECHL to being basically the second string goalie for a NHL team. Granted, it's the worst NHL team in the west, but it's still a great jump to make.
Glove of lightning
Stick of thunder
Robbing all who shoot asunder
Underhill, U-U-U-U-Underhill, Underhill.
:-D
Check out the great interview of Underhill on the 'Hawks website. The link is right above Post-Game video section of the page. It looks like a news link so it might not be there after today.

This morning's paper quoted the Blackhawk's GM as saying that Adam Munro would be out for a week with his concussion.
