Long sleeve t-shirts... ew.
Beeeej
You were planning on wearing short sleeves to the rink?
No, I was planning on wearing a sweatshirt as usual.
Beeeej
ok. i am liking this....
jude... are you sure you don't want STUFF for your b-day?
i am thinking that thees are pretty damn cool. are you SURE?
Where's all the stuff for our Ivy football championships? Oh wait... ::nut::
Seriously, though, is that little Ivy shield logo new? I don't think I've ever seen it before.
Not that this isn't also cool, but for an even more obscure Cornell sports purchase:

Heh... well, I seem to have gotten them to add a sweatshirt by requesting it - but they're charging $39.95 for it when other sweatshirts are $34.95. Maybe that's 'cause they figure it's a guaranteed sale. :-P

Anyway, I've asked why the price hike, so please wait until I get an answer from him before ordering one... don't give them the impression that charging $5 extra is okay.
Beeeej
Okay... he said something about a smaller production run being more expensive, and Ivy champ sweatshirts always selling fewer than general sweatshirts.
But he also offered me a 15% off coupon, which actually makes it $33.96, less than the other, regularly priced sweatshirts. Use the code "winter02" in the coupon field when ordering (I imagine it works when ordering anything). I wonder if he knew he was giving a discount to a whole community? :-D

If we win the ECAC, I see no reason to want an Ivy League champs shirt. It's like when I bought a New York Yankees 1996 American League East champs hat, which quickly became irrelevant when they went on to win the World Series. And if we don't win at Placid, I think I would be too bitter to wear an Ivy champs shirt either (especially if another Ivy team won it).
nah.. having the fact that we are better than harvard on a shirt is more than worth it. esp since even after i told my mom that we were ivy champs she said, "we'll you aren't better than harvard." granted she doesn't know the league set-up.....but showing her the shirt and explaining what it means is more than worth the $.
Outside of the hockey community, it carries a lot more cache to have an Ivy Champions shirt than an ECAC champions shirt, especially out here where most people guess that Stanford is the fourth Ivy (after Harvard, Yale, and Duke, naturally...)
check out the penn and princeton merchandise sites. Everything is on sale! maybe the penn and princeton fans aren't buying.
Penn sucks.
I bought an Ivy Championship shirt in '96 right before the FF. They didn't have ECAC shirts yet and I wanted to have some Cornell championship gear for te trip to Cinci, even though we had already lost in Albany. I also figured that I'd just buy an ECAC champ shirt when they came out. I was pretty annoyed when the ECAC shirts came out and they were the exact same shirt that I'd bought with ECAC champs written either instead of or above Ivy champs (can't rememebr which). Didn't seem worth the money to buy this one once I had the first one.
> having the fact that we are better than harvard on a shirt is more than worth it.
...A "fact" which would become a challenge to defend if we somehow manage to lose to them at Lake Placid. ::yark::
I'd hold out for an "ECAC & Ivy League Champions '02" sweatshirt! ;-)
(P.S. -- Long-sleeve t-shirts are, like, totally gay).
'p' schools SUCK, I hate them as much as hahvahd. Maybe its just from Track, but regardless the 'p' schools really really suck
they don't have fans that follow anything other than hoops with any regularity.
end rant
Why not?
(Yes I am that guy in section D with the red SHORT-sleeve t-shirt!!)
