Title: ECAC Players of the Week, 2/16
Post by: Section A on February 17, 2004, 04:44:16 PM
Shane Hynes is the Co-Player of the Week (along with Scott Basiuk of RPI).
Byron Bitz is the Rookie of the Week.

I believe it's the second time Bitz has been the rookie of the week (and I think McKee has been given the honor twice as well).

Not only was McKee ROTW twice, he was ROTW in back-to-back weeks where the awards were given (for the Brown/Harvard home weekend, and then again for the Everblades Tournament).

Congrats to Hynes and Bitz, both well-deserved!

EDIT: Fixed my mistake.

So looking at the weekly awards (including the honor roll), we have 6 goaltenders honored:

Russell (UVM):  2 W, 1 GA
Marsters (RPI): 2 W, 2 GA
McKee (COR):   2 W, 2 GA
Gartner (YAL):  1 W, 3 GA
Yacey (DAR):   1 W, 1 T, 5 GA
Danis (BRN):  1 T, 6 GA

Ummm....anyone see anyone who doesn't really belong with the rest?  [/conspiracy]

Edit: removed plethora of "as"es per grammar police request.  :-)

Gah, meant to say Hynes, not sure where my head was.  Well, Hynes deserves it too!

[Q]Well, Hynes deserves it too![/Q]

Moulson would have been a deserving candidate on many a weekend, with the 4 points he accumulated. Hynes of course had 5 though :-)
