A Clarkson fan friend of mine who lives in the Hartford, CT area sent me this story:
[Q]
My friend who is a Michigan grad met a girl at the bar the other night. Turns out she's a rabid Cornell hockey fan (is there any other type?!??). She spent two hours telling him about every single Cornell player who's ever made it to the NHL or AHL. He tried to show off his own limited hockey knowledge by mentioning that one Michigan player is on the Hartford Wolfpack. She proceeded to smack him down by telling him that the player he had in mind was pulled up by the Rangers earlier in the season. Ouch.
I think he's in love.
[/Q]
Anyone want to claim credit??
Scerk after a sex-change operation?
Dude, that's SO dss28.
::laugh:: Josh, you know me so well.
Okay, in fairness... we had gotten onto the topic of hockey, and he asked me if there were any Cornell players in the pros. ...to which I responded why yes, yes there are. But that part of the conversation didn't last two hours!!

Oh - that's right!! I knew that I'd just met someone in Boston who was from Hartford, but I couldn't remember who it was. Sorry to have forgotten you so soon, DSS!
And be sure to let him down gently - my friend says the michigan grad's a really nice guy! ;)
No worries! :)
I must say, I've had a pretty rough day, but seeing this story has certainly become the highlight of the day!
He certainly seemed nice -- he saved me from a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally sketchy drunk guy who kept asking (read: slurring) me if I was waiting for someone... the Michigan grad happened to sit at the barstool next to me, and I leaned over and said "Hi, can you pretend we know each other?"
Hmm - I wonder if that drunk guy was my Clarkson friend... :-P
Apparently, we can get you Michigan Man's email address if you want it... **)
Haha... no no, drunk guy was a "lawyer for a firm in Hartford. And I make lots of money. Want to see my car?" ...umm... riiiiiiight.

Mine is purely platonic. How about yours? :-P
Reminds me of the song "Wayne Gretzky" by Goldfinger:

If not for Cornell hockey, I could very well be engaged right now...that I am not is a good thing. Ahem. As you were.
Well, he apparently loves the pep band, as he stayed with us for the Dartmouth/Vermont trip ;-)
As for random fan sightings, I've seen some 12 year old kid at UConn men's hockey games wearing a Cornell jersey. We start their training early in CT.
ah yes, just what I was thinking... ::yark::
Not that there's anything wrong with it... :-P
I did get to have dinner with the McKee family, I loved that.
Interesting one to me, but no love story

Sorry it's not a love story, but I just bought my 5 year old nephew a Cornell Hockey jersey as well. He saw mine last year during the NC$$ and wanted one.

That's not the type of love story we were looking for, but that's still a love story! :-) Where did you get the jersey?
I got it at Lynah.

For a second, I thought you were talking about the clap clap clapclapclap.
Well, my wife (also a Cornell grad) claims that the first time she considered me in a romantic sense (we had friends in common and were both in the same lab course at the time) was when she saw me at a Cornell game (we were with two different groups that happened to be in adjacent rows) and our first official date was to Little Joe's and then a game. Boy, did I know how to show a lady a good time or what! :-P
