Just a point that should be made.
Due to the recent ticket fiasco this year, several students, like myself, who have had tickets before were unable to get them. Many as have recounted their stories on this forum have decided to sulk and cry about their travesties. Many others have turned their attention to the first place men's basketball program.
Tonight the Red take on the Princeton Tigers in a battle for first place. The same energy from Lynah has been transformed at many of the games at Newman Arena or as I like to call it Lynah Near East. This team has the better chance this year to make an NCAA tourney, and we should support them justly. Last year, they Red lost to Princeton by 8 on the same night the hockey team beat the Tigers by 8 (I know I'll get corrected by someone, but it was about that margin).
This game is guaranteed to be close, and they deserve our time and support. Also, it looks real lame when people come over after the hockey game, and everyone wonders why the band and many fans don't arrive until after the 10 minute mark in the second half.
So I beseech you to come and support the Red Basketball tonight. They're a team that has accomplished much this year and has many more goals to meet.
--A basketball fan, who wishes for there to be a good turnout tonight so that there is a true homecourt advantage, much like the one that the hockey team enjoys, so he is posting this in a forum where many people, young and old can consider going to the game tonight
There will definitely be a band at both events. Whenever possible, if there is a home bball game and a hockey game, we split up the bands, and usually get two pretty good sounding bands. The hockey band joins the bball band when hockey is over as a way of strengthening their support, but we always try and field two bands whenever possible.
