all i have to say is this:
#1 denver lost to an unranked team.
#2 st cloud lost twice to #4 minnesota.
#5 mich st lost to an unranked team.
#6 bu lost and tied with #7 maine.
#8 michigan played lackluster games.
we keep on winning in a conference where the third and tenth ranked teams are separated by three points, and our sixth ranked team brown beats the previously ranked #1 st cloud. we do everything right, and...
and we hold at 9 in the USCHO polls?
what the f*ck?
bring on yale baby, i'm gonna give lombard an earful
ps do polls continue through the postseason
-mike
The polls continue to be irrelevant through the postseason. B-]
I didn't expect us to move up.
nope. me neither. a questionable win against RPI and a win against union, a team not even making ECAC playoffs, isn't that impressive, especialy to a group of people who for the most part view the ECAC as the EZAC. Still, I understand your frustration Mike. We probably should be a spot or 2 higher. The good thing is that the polls are just the opinion of a group of people and mean very little.
It might be something of a disguised gift. It starts to look as though Cornell might really need to win it all at Placid to make the NCAA's, and if that's so I'd rather have the PWR and the (meaningless) polls reflect that, for added pyschological discomfort.
It may be because I am old and grey, but not quite old and grey enough, that I begin every year with the idea that winning the ECAC tournament is *the* mark of success for the season. As such, right now the only thing I'm thinking about is getting in position to win a TENTH championship. Beyong that, it's all fairy tales and ice cream.

I am, truth be told, "old and grey enough," but still say a hearty "amen." Championships are remembered, not appearances.
I am by no means old or gray, but agree. A great man once said, "Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terrors, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival." This may be overdramatic, but it holds true. No one cares if you finish in second place. I hope our boys play like we know they can. If they do, we should have no worries. The if is what I'm worried about.

Hey, if we do win, are you going to change your handle on USCHO? :-D

What's wrong with kepler? ::nut::
Quote#8 michigan played lackluster games.
You could probably say the same thing about Cornell with regards to the last few weeks...
I haven't quite figured out how to drop one user id and add another. Only one id per email address is permitted.
Hotmail.
Well, yeah, I guess that would work (and probably explains why Ellis-Toddington was the lead vote-getter among ECAC Hockey nominations...)
