I haven't read anything about the extent of the McKee and Glover injuries.
Vermont shouldn't be taken for granted. They've been playing much better lately:
Dartmouth: win
SLU: loss
Clarkson: overtime loss
Cornell: loss
Colgate: loss
Union: win
RPI: overtime loss
Colgate: tie

Game has started.
Sifers gets an elbowing penalty; Cornell pp coming up.
Second Vermont penalty, Cornell will have a brief 5x3.
Cornell getting a 5x3!! LGR!
5x3!
Vermont audio sounds like it it coming through a tracheotomy mic.
God I wish I was there now. I have a friend at UVM with very direct connections to the hockey team. The taunting would have been relentless.
1st penalty expires and then even up on Cornell.
OH man....came pretty darn close. Ref calls the equalizer.
4x4
Russel will always be a doorman. Interference on Hynes.
Cornell can't count. :16 of Vermont 5x3.
Back to 5x4.
[q]Cornell can't count.[/q]
That's a pretty bold statement....one guy in particular on the hockey team can't.....
Vermont hits the post. Even strength.
Hynes gets flattened on an open ice hit and looks shaken up. Penalty on Vermont.
pp sounds great so far -- lots of well set up shots.
Hynes back out there.
Colgate 1 Dartmouth 0 (good, I think)
St. Lawrence 1 Union 0
pp expires.
Seems that the RPI game is starting late due to the honoring of the '54 national championship team and because it's being broadcast on tv. It's freakout night too.
Greetings from Shanghai, China! Glad to see that the game is underway. Off to breakfast now, and will be checking back later for score update.
Saw "Miracle" last Saturday (sneak preview) and LOVE THE MOVIE. Two thumbs way up! :-) :-) :-)
Slightly OT: I have been unable to get irc.warped.net to work for a long time. Did we decide if it's not working anymore or what? If anybody else is having that problem, i'm hanging out in #lynah on miami.fl.us.undernet.org, though any undernet server should do. hope to see a few people there!
Vermont color man doesn't like the energy of the Cornell pep band!:-D
Hornby hooks. ("Get a room.") Vermont pp.
Nice compliment about the Cornell band by UVM announcers.
Period over.
Gosh...seems like we have a short-handed jinx going against us!!! ::screwy::
Cam Abbott stoned on a clean breakaway. Scoreless after 1; Cornell had much the better of the period.
The Snapple commercial guy should be tied to a tree and shot
SLU 2 Union 0, end of 1st
Colgate 1 Dartmouth 1, end of 1st
Brian McCutcheon is Adam's first intermission guest.
Tom, my son just got home from seeing "Miracle". He loved it. He's 13.
WOW shots were 17-3 in the 1st.
RPI 0 Clarkson 0 still in the 1st
Post Edited (02-07-04 19:49)
Tail end Vermont pp expires, even strength.
Hornby draws a penalty; Cornell 4th pp coming up.
Jesus. That is a lot of penalties.
PP Cornell. 17:44 to go.
Nuthin on that one; Cornell 0x4.
Cornell penalty and here comes a UVM pp.
Colgate up 3-1 on Dartmouth.
Post Edited (02-07-04 19:58)
Cornell trails Yale 36-22 at the half in hoops.
Is there a radio station that is broadcasting the game in Ithaca or do I have to pay via web to hear some Cornell anouncers? Edit: ( I don't have anythign against these guys, I just want to get away from my computer).
Post Edited (02-07-04 20:02)
Clarkson 0 RPI 0, end of 1st
And Cornell returns to full strength!
UVM penalty expires, each team 0x4.
Good. Definitely want Colgate and Brown to win tonight. All that matters is getting into the top four. Winning the ECAC Regular Season is very unlikely at this point and it really doesn't matter that much. Finishing in the top four - weather fourth or first - reaps basically the same benefits (bye in first round then home ice in the second). So getting by at least two of Dartmouth, RPI, and Yale is the goal for the final six and a half games of the season.
Brown 1 Yale 1, 1st. Go Brown (I suppose).
GLEED! 1-0!!!
Post Edited (02-07-04 20:05)
GLEED! Goal
GOAL GLEED!!
GLEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!
Cam Abbott and Hornby with the assists
Post Edited (02-07-04 20:06)
2 9:21 Cor Gleed 2 (Cam Abbott 6, Hornby 4)
AM 870 broadcasts the game in Ithaca, Alex.
Penalty on Wallace; UVM pp #5 coming up.

I've been thinking about the playoff possibilities a little bit. I'd almost want us to finish in 5th place. This would get us a first round series at home against the last place finisher (probably Vermont or Union). Too much pressure is a cause for concern. Plus, that week off can throw off the team as we saw last year. The Friday game against RPI took the team a night to get their legs back and then Saturday was the 4-0 blowout.
Then we'd play the 4th place team, where in the ECAC is essentially a dead heat. This would be without the pressures of home ice.
Vermont 0x5.
[Q]This would be without the pressures of home ice.[/Q]
Good point, do we really want home ice this year?
::uhoh::
is the pp over yet and how much time is left in it
3:40 to go in 2nd.
3:40 left in 2nd
Well, barring a HUGE disaster, they are going to finish in the top 8, meaning they are going to be playing a best of three series at home at some point. Would much rather have a weekend off especially with all the injuries this year.
Hornby going off for brawling.
4-4 mounsy and hornby go off
2:09 to go in the 2nd.
double minors on both hornby and mounsy
i think
Anyone know the Brown/Yale score right now?
Colgate 3 Dartmouth 3
SLU 2 Union 2
QuoteDan '81 wrote:

Brown-Yale tied at 1 last I heard.
any insight from Adam on the rough play? The Vermont announcers are good but homers...they are blaming it all on Cornell
Brown 1 Yale 1, last report
Colgate vs. Dartmouth also 1-1 in the first
Vermont penalty on hit to Cook's head. Cornell 5th pp coming up.
pp for CU, contact to the head. possible major
actually 3-2 colgate ::uhoh::
Thanks for the B/Y score.
end of 2nd ::screwy:: ::uhoh:: ::help:: ::yark:: ::snore:: ::nut::
actually Colgate/Dartmouth is 3-3 ;-)
3-3 colgate vs. dartmouth
Clarkson 2 at RPI 0, 2nd
Brown 2/ Yale 1 after 2nd.
Anybody know the last time RPI lost on freakout night? I think it's been a while
I think it's been 14 years undefeated. There have been some ties in that stretch.
I believe they are 9-0-4 since their last BRF loss. 13 years!
Is that Trevor back with us tonight? ::stupid:: This bodes well for us. Much better announcers at UVM. Guess Vermont fans have nothing better to do in the winter than watch their last-place team (said knowing that they're one goal away from tying it up)
QuoteTom Pasniewski '98 wrote:

To be honest, that's the mark of great fans, considering how horrible they've been the last few years.
Shots in 2nd 9-5, for game 26-8.
26 for who
::screwy::
Clarkson 2 RPI 1, 3rd
Cornell begins third with 1:39 of pp time.
3rd period under way
Lots of puck movement but no close calls; Cornell 0x5.
Abbot tackled according to Adam right in front of ref no call
::rolleyes:: lets get a goal here
OT: From the bball thread - Yale 67 Cornell 48, Final
This is same crew as last night -- called it tight through two and swallowed whistle in the third.
Adam says this is firrst time since about pee-wee (maybe 7 plus years) sinze Bitz has played center!
y
Because Vesce is hurt. That's y.
Post Edited (02-07-04 20:50)
exactly what i meant ......... i think ::screwy::
11+ mins left
:-( lets score now i'm getting bored
very cool! thanks for letting those of us stuck with the Vermont webcast hear some of Adam's comments!
Post Edited (02-07-04 20:55)

I bet you're not a soccer fan...
Face- off vermont zone 10 mins left

Brown 2 Yale 1
Colgate 3 Dartmouth 3

CCT 2 RPI 1
Post Edited (02-07-04 20:59)
anthing about colgate ::screwy::
http://board.uscho.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=7
A good place to get updates
Last Gate score was 3-3 in the third.
Clarkson 2 RPI 1 end of two
Penalty on Hornby. UVM pp #6 coming up.
Vermont announcers accuse Cornell of "lots of interference" especially clutching, grabbing, and picks. They're wondering what the refs are watching. Now that is boring....
pp for vermont hooking hornby again:-(
Hornby off for a hook - minor incidental and after swallowing whistle called irrelevant penalty according to Adam
Anybody picturing Laing Kennedy sponsoring the scoreboard everytime they say the score? Anybody. Ok, it's just me. One more goal would be nice to wrap up our first four-point weekend in northern New England since Feb. 1995.
i see how you feel ::nut::
yeah but first we go to kill this penalty
And they kill the pp 5:45 to go
Adam Wodon is a pretty big homer himself. Don't get me wrong; I like him, but he is definitely noticably biased to Cornell.
Great kill, UVM 0x6.
watch the woofing! ;-)
::snore:: ::uhoh:: ;-)
4:07 to go in the third at Hanover, Colgate 3 Dartmouth 3.
::twitch::
8:00 to go in third at Schenectady, Union 2 SLU 2.
Penalty on Gleed. UVM pp #7 coming up.
Gee, are these penalties really necessary at this point?
Penalty on what Adam says was a dive w/ crowd pressure Gleed 2:18 left
pp for vermont all of a sudden they call the interference
Give me a break with this clutching and grabbing finally calling something
Sounds like a Vermont timeout.
Band sounds great on the Cornell radio feed - !! come on P-kill !!
2 nice clears by Knoepfli, and one by Carefoot.
1:00 min to go, extra attacker
under 1 min.
Vermont announcers say UVM is dead tired
Russell out.
50 left in game, 28 on vermont pp
Russell back for center ice faceoff.
lets hold now 15 secs left on pp vermont gonna pull goalie
PP over!
We WIN !!!
Game Over!!! :-D
1-0 final
Oh yeah! 4 pt. weekend!!! Very nice!
4 point weekend!! haven't been able to say that in a while
:-D :-D 4 POINT WEEKEND :-D :-D
Post Edited (02-07-04 21:13)
McKee shut out #5.
IS IT FRICKEN OVER YET?!?!?!
Very nice. Good night, all.
It is so great to be able to know that Cornell has scored a 4-point weekend, even though I am all the way here in Shanghai. Love the free Internet connection in my hotel :-D
Fans back at Lynah must be scratching their heads and wondering when they will see another victory at home. Soon, hopefully!
On a hazy and cold Sunday morning....
Other scores
Clarkson 2 RPI 2 --13 minutes left
Colgate 3 Dartmouth 3 --currently in OT
Union 2 SLU 2 --3 minutes left
No report on Brown Yale
Post Edited (02-07-04 21:18)
Colgate and Dartmouth in ot at 3-3.
Colgate tied and Brown won
RPI tied Clarkson with 14 minutes to go.
Shots is our game: 33-9.
Union now up on SLU 3-2.
McKee shut-out #5?! ::nut::
Is he like working toward some kind of school record?? :-D Incredible for a kid from Texas, if you ask me
Schafer now has swept each of the road pairs at least once: http://members.cox.net/tbrwmisc/games/cornell4ptWeekends.html
McKee's shut outs: http://members.cox.net/tbrwmisc/games/cornellShutouts.html
Union beats SLU 3-2.
RPI now leads Clarkson 3-2.
That Big Red Freakout this seems to really work...
RPI up 3-2, 7 mins to go.
Other scores, all final:
Cornell 1 Vermont 0
Brown 4 Yale 1
Union 3 SLU 2
Colgate 3 Dartmouth 3 (ot)
If RPI wins, there's going to be a 3-way tie for 3rd, with Yale dropping to sixth from 3rd on Friday night.
Current standings:
25 Brown
22 Colgate
19 Cornell
19 Dartmouth
18 Yale
17 RPI*
* RPI still playing and ahead.
Worst case: 3-way tied for third place.
Cornell breaks the tie with Dartmouth because they have more wins.
Clarkson pp coming up very late at Troy.
Ivy Standings
Brown 7-1-1 15pts.... 1 game left (vs D)
Cornell 5-2-1 11p........2 to play (vs P/Y)
Dartmouth 4-1-1 9p..... 4 to play (vs Y/P, @B/H)
Princeton 3-5 6p .... 2 to play (@C, @D)
Harvard 2-6-1 5p..... 1 to play (vs D)
Yale 1-7 2p ..... 2 to play (@C,@D)
Yale in ECAC games:
1-7 vs Ivy
8-0 vs non-Ivy
RPI eng 4-2.
Not quite - tiebreakers are head to head and then record vs. the top 4 teams. RPI just won so Dartmouth takes the head to head between those 3 teams, and RPI currently holds the head to head advantage over you guys.
FWIW, in order for us to share the Ivy title we must sweep Yale/Princeton, Dartmouth must beat Brown but lose two points to Harvard, Princeton or Yale.
Results from the top 15 this week, with their opponents in parentheses:
Team (First Place) Record Pts
1 North Dakota (27) 19-3-3 586 L, L (Wisconsin)

I really dislike North Dakota. Maybe it's because they were gifted so much money but whatever the reason is, I enjoy it when they lose. I'd love to see Cornell play a two year series with ND.
So, how often does is a team held to a single digit for shots on goal?
Especially with 6 powerplays - haven't checked a box with penalties to add up the total time Cornell spent on the pk, but even if each of were only 1 minute, Vermont "should have" had more than 9 shots just on their powerplays! Wow. I checked TBRW but couldn't figure out a way to search for single game save totals. Not sure where that could be checked.
Well, doing the search the manual way shows that we haven't done it in any other games this year and have only held a team under 20 on three occasions. The only two times we've been held under 20 were the two COlgate games, which we lost coincidentally. :`(
