Expanding on my previous post where I stated on 2/15 if we were to win-out, we would be #5 or better in pwr and everyone said I was a crack smoker.
Well, turning the 2/15 loss to Dartmouth into a win puts red #3.
Additionally, turning the slu(t)(bitches) tie to a win, puts red #1, which would have held true if they won out 2/15 on.
Leaving the 2/15 loss and changing the tie alone puts red #7.
The Dartmouth game could have been the biggest game of the season.
Time will tell. ::nut::
And by season I mean regular season. Obviously the biggest game of the -entire- season potentially could be in MN.
::nut::
Dartmouth may be on their way to getting knocked out of the TUC, which would help minimize the effect of losing to them.
And if it were 1970 we would be undefeated. Woulda, coulda, shoulda...
I think this season is great! I really enjoyed watching the team this weekend and have enjoyed hockeycam this season.
I think I would even enjoy it just as much without computer comparisons. What's wrong with me?
;-)
Well, you aint from around here, boy. ;-)
Speaking of the wonderful hockey cam...Age, have you been made whole on this yet? ::help::
To paraphrase a colleague of mine, the significance of the Dartmouth game does not rule out the possibility that you are in fact on crack. ::nut:: ;-)
True, JTW.... true.
It's not that I am torn over this. I think it was a great season. I just want a written apology from everyone who ever doubted JD. ::uhoh:: ::nut:: ::uhoh::
Dude, get over it.
Besides, we really haven't broken #5 yet according USCHO. In fact, after this weekend, we are #9. A far cry from #5. So, if we don't break #5, will you apologize?? Not that I really care.
But if that's what'll make you happy, then here you go.
I'm sorry.
::rolleyes::
I know we are not #5. Because we didn't win out. That was the point of the post.
Apology accepted, and yes, it has made me very happy. :`(
Alright, JD,
Maybe I was a bit touchy in my previous post.
In anycase, to play with the possibilities, I went over to slack.net/hockey, and ran the script with us winning out the season after the Dartmouth loss. You're kind of right, in that we end up being tied for #5. But, after the tie-breaks, Cornell ends up in #7. So you were kind of right, and all the nay-sayers were kind of right as well.
Red,
Change the Dartmouth loss to a win.
Where are we at now? ::help:: ::help:: ::help::
Well, I don't think an apology is quite necessary since I don't think I was rude or did anything wrong in offering my opinion, but I'll gladly concede that you were apparently right and I was wrong about Cornell's PWR potential.
And while I'm at it, I need to acknowledge another instance where I was mistaken: I don't recall who said it, but in making a hypothetical argument someone had said on this forum (or was it CHDF?) something to the effect of "if Cornell can go 9-1 in their last ten regular season games" and I scoffed that that would be a "tall order" for the team to pull off. Well, I'm very pleased to point out that I sold Cornell short on what they could do down the stretch (8-1-1 over those ten games and 13-2-1 since the new year). Hey, crow doesn't taste so bad after all. :-)
I don't really want an apology. I'm just messin'. ::yark::
Hmm.. tastes like chicken. :-P
Beeeej
...when you find yourself eating gator sausage and being able to tell it tastes like alligator.
I think you've been there too long when you can actually get gator sausage down. I had that in Boston (maybe it doesn't travel well) once, and aside from ox tongue, I don't think I've ever placed a more unfortunate order.
