Is anyone going to do a eLynah internet feed?
No score about 1/3 through first period.
RPI goes on pp.
Cornell kills it off, 7 to go in the first, 0-0.
Great flurry in front of Martsers but just like yesterday, right at the goalie.
RPI back on pp with about 5 to go in the first.
And another RPI PP
Another good Cornell kill.
Cornell PP. RPI gets nailed for a Xcheck retaliation.
Cornell kills it off, then applies pressure and draws a penalty. Cornell going on pp with about 2 mins to go in the first.
Vesce keeps getting thrown out of faceoffs. Why?
The Brown radio pair could learn something from RPI's.
Slash on Marsters gives CU a 18 second two man adv.
43 sec. left, Marsters gets nailed for slashing. 18 secs of 5x3,

Waaaaaaaaay too tentative on the pp. End of period, 0-0; we begin the second with about 1:17 on the pp.
End of 1. First time I've agreed with a crowd yelling "Shoot" as Cook held the puck up top as the period expired.
Shoe is on the other foot - Cornell can't get a shot through the RPI D to Marsters.
RPI is using a very tight box for the PP and cutting off the shooting lanes.

Still Jason Moy?
Anyone else having trouble connecting to chat?
Adam notes that a Cornell recruit in the stands is about 5'6". Sounds like Topher Scott.
Not tonight. It's Jim Spavins and Kurt Stutt. RPI rotates four announcers. (All four post on USCHO.)

SLU-Dartmouth 1-1 after 1
Brown-UHN 0-0 after 1
Start of 2d. Cornell on PP.
RPI at full strength They still suck.
RPI kills off the reaminder of the CU pp, now Downs is whistled and RPI goes on pp early in per 2.
RPI PP. Downs for interference ~2 minutes in.
Another good COrnell kill
Cornell kills it and now Moulson draws a penalty, so CU goes on pp. McKee very sharp during the last kill.
Cornell PP.
Quick whistle during a scramble in front of the net. RPI kills the penalty.

Even strength, very slow period; neither team with anything going right now. You are getting sleeeeepy...
11:50 to go. Penalties? Not well explained.
Offsetting penalties for Hornby and ____. Unsportsmanlike. Skating 4x4.

Offsetting again. Glover and Barnes.
Two pairs of coincidental unsportsmanlike in the last 5 minutes -- I think they're teaching each other some new words.
And now Moulson going off on a Croxton dive. RPI pp.
Crap. Moulson called for a penalty. Adam claims it was a dive.
RPI scores during the 4x3
Basiuk with the ppg. 1-0 RPI.
McKee stones a clear breakaway and then RPI gets a penalty after the whistle. Turning point?
Glover FANS on a shot, leads to a breakaway for Green. McKee with a great save.
Penalty on RPI for ???. 16:42 gone in 2d.
EDIT: PP over; 1:11 left
Post Edited (01-17-04 20:30)
RPI kills it off, but Cornell starting to show some jump.
PP over, 1:11 left in 2nd
End of 2
I repeat, despite Greg's pedantry, IN the net!!! ;-) (And we could actually use a lot more on net as well.)
Post Edited (01-17-04 20:36)
I'm ready for through the net at this point.
start of 3d
Will someone please, please score a goal, preferably 2 or 3??? For both Cornell and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, goals have been extremely rare since last Friday in Cambridge. :-(
Cornell PP. Hornby thrown to the ice.
Halfway through the PP (a VERY sloppy PP) Gleed tackles someone on a breakaway to even up the penalties.
Cook for holding. There will be over a minute of 5x3.
RPI scores on 5x3. 1:14 of PP left.
10:40 left. RPI forechecking very aggressively.
That was Oren Eizenman from Basiuk and Farynuk.

I'd feel better about this if I heard more "save Marsters" and less "just wide".
6:37 left.

Cornell PP. RPI for obstruction/hooking.
Interference penalty on RPI, but it's gettin' late. LGR!
RPI kills it, Cornell pp 0x6.
2:17 left.
A good pp that resulted in nothing. A post and a bunch of saves.
2:17 to go, Schafer calls timeout. Cornell will play without the goalie.
Pulling McKee with 2:17 left. Better win the faceoff.
Another quick whistle takes a pp goal away from Cornell.
Horrible, horrible performance. Lackluster and sloppy.
Just curious. When was the last time that someone shut out Cornell at home?
To quote "A Fish Called Wanda," disappointed!
Not sure what else can be added to the combined weight of 125 frustrating minutes. The wet blanket of Brown and Union's traps disappeared, but the Red continued to play as if covered by it.
It's going to be an unpleasant week at practice.
Pretty much a lost weekend, sad to say. This did not look like the same team we saw at Harvard. One wonders what's going on. We've got to find scoring from somewhere other than Moulson, who has nine of our forwards' 31 even-strength goals.
Can't take away from how both Union and Rensselaer played us. Kudos to them.
2/28/98: Union 1 Cornell 0, at Lynah.

I remember that. Thanks.
we lost!:`(
We need to win! ::help:: ::screwy:: :-P
this is also the third home weekend in which cornell ties on friday and then loses on saturday (exception: the brown/harvard weekend).
Can we ask to play Harvard again?
What's more startling is that of our six ties, five came on Fridays and the sixth was against Mercyhurst, who we played alone on Thanksgiving weekend.
My thoughts on the game:
- bigredapple summed it up right--"lackluster and sloppy" pretty much described Cornell start to finish. I don't know what happened tonight. I have some guesses, though (see below).
- RPI didn't do much better for the first period, but for the second and third periods, we got to see the team that swept St. Cloud. They played a physical game that really wore Cornell down, and it showed by the end of the game.
- McLeod got his first NCAA gametime, but I wasn't terribly impressed by him. I can see why he's been benched until now.
- The defense tried hard, but when it was 5 on 3, there was only so much they could do. Unfortunately, McKee got hung out to dry at that point. Nevertheless, I thought McKee was mostly solid for the duration of the game.
- I have to wonder, with both Wallace and Pegoraro out, if this breakdown this weekend can be attributed to the shuffling of the lines.
- For as poorly as I thought Cornell did overall, some of the blame should go to Dupree. For a ref, he did a horrible job. The last penalty against Hornby for hitting after the whistle after the game was already over just seemed to be done out of spite. The assistants weren't much better, though; there seemed to be a lot of undue offsides calls made against Cornell towards the end of the game.
- To quote a guy who parked in the pay lot next to Bartels, some "fuckin' asshole" wrote "RPI" in the snow on several cars' windows. Now I feel the need to go to the game in Troy and be as loud and obnoxious as possible.
Was the crowd any bigger or louder than Friday night? The band?
Bigger, yes. Louder...eh, we were kinda deflated as the game went on.
The band was great, though.
Disapointing game.. very hard to watch.
*Our defense tried, but something's just not clicking.
*Lots of times when we actually SHOT THE PUCK, we came close to scoreing. More shots.. and we need to freakin' aim, too.
*We need more hustle. But we had much more energy, I think tonight's game was better than last night's, to say the least. But I don't know what's happening to our team.. we need Ben back out there. And Dan too.
But I'm wondering what people think about..
*I don't understand what exactly is keeping Jan Pajerski off the ice besides the fact that's he's third string. He is now a JUNIOR. Why did Schafer put Kevin McLeod, a freshman, on the ice when he has Jan, still eagerly waiting for some ice time? Jan has been to plenty more games and practices then Kevin has, and wouldn't you think that Jan would know the ropes a little more than Kevin would?
PS: The RPI fans in Section O were so freakin obnoxious, and they wouldn't shut up. Left to a different part of the rink towards the end of the game so I didn't have to hear their shit.

Gee, they sound sort of like ... well,
us.
I agree disappointing - We won about 65-70 % of faceoffs and had a couple less icing's over the game than RPI... but nothing in the net to show for the effort. Evan S. played well on D. Hornby and Abbot line showed usual hustle - Ryan/Byron/Matt were dangerous at times but had mutliple shots blocked by RPI D-men. Both Hynes and Moulson were hit from behind head first into boards both without puck there and NO CALL's They both seemed to be playing sore and injured after the hits -
RPI played extremely well especially last two periods - Brown and RPI are two best ECAC teams I have seen this year. (including us so far :-( )

Interesting observations.
The patterns of play in both the Brown and RPI games were similar. Cornell controlled the first period but did not come away with a lead. Both RPI and Brown grew stronger in periods two and three. Not sure what, if anything, to read into that.
Yeah they did sound like us, and sometimes they were actually funny, but when they started with how terrible McKee was ... that's when I got really pissed. They would know a lot about him too, calling him "Steven".

I agree, it sounds exactly like what Cornell fans do. And I was stuck in O because I bought my tickets in Troy. They were yelling back and forth at our fans and I enjoyed the give and take.
This is the best RIP team since the Fridge has been coach. The RIP fans have had to put up with 9 mediocre years because of his bone headed coaching. Some of the fans at the game were students who have
NEVER seen a good Engineer team. They had lost 7 in a row to Cornell. Their team shut us out at Lynah! They deserved all the gloating that they did and then some.
I just hope the Big Red can connect on a few of the shots that were whiffed on Saturday. After all, we can return the favor in Troy in February.
The RPI fans weren't calling McKee "Steven". That was "sieve".
Not coming away with a(n early) lead really does fuel the fire of a good visiting team. Just one Cornell goal would probably keep them from overflowing with all that energy. The team knows this...better luck against 'mouth and 'mont this next weekend.
