Let's Go Red!
Post Edited (01-10-04 21:15)
Uh oh....the Brown feed is some old basketball game.
According to this http://brownbears.ocsn.com/multimedia/brow-multimedia.html it's supposed to be hockey
Phew....seems that the feed is definitely hockey now.
Maybe they'll fix the stream once the game starts
:-( Just noticed the same thing, Chris. Maybe they'll fix it by 7?
gonna listen from binghamton to ithaca. crazy that my apartment in vestal is literally a stone throw away from where it comes in clearly
LGR!
brown feed is hockey now (anthem playing)
Sounds like we're about to get started
Starters: Moulson, Vesce, Bitz, Wallace, Salmela, and of course, McKee.
Looks like the defensive pairings are going to be a little different tonight.
Go to http://www.onworldwide.com/on3.asx
Wow, I havent done this in awhile.
Forget about the cornell audio feed
The Brown feed is functioning just fine.
16 minutes left in 1st period, still 0-0
16:00 left in the 1st, no score...
16:00 to go in the first, not many scoring chances yet. A couple blocked shots on each side
Lots of pressure early from Brown
Penalty coming up on Brown for obstruction/holding
Penalty on Brown as Knoepfli gets pulled down
is anybody else hearing news on the Cornell Feed? ::help::
woohoo! Adam W. is back :-)
And Brown kills off the PP
about halfway through the first, still scoreless
They cant seem to pronounce Iggulden correctly.
woah, big glove save by McKee
Brown announcers keep whining that we're running picks and should be called for interference.
9 to go in first, still scoreless.
Hornby charged Danis and is in some fight with a Brown player.
Out of town scores:
Colgate 0, Harvard 1 (1st 16:00 )
Dartmouth 1, Vermont 1 (1st 04:19 )
also, Yale 1 St. Lawrence 0 (1st 13:57)
score! Hornby!
Post Edited (01-10-04 19:26)
SCORE! 1-0!!
RPI 0 Union 0 1st
Post Edited (01-10-04 19:27)
Hornby!!!
Hornby scores.
The Cornell goal
Was scored by
Number 16 Greg Hornby
HORNBY!!!!
Assisted by number 14 Cam Abbott
ABBOTT!!!
and number 19 Chris Abbott
ABBOTT!!!
Time of the goal 15:11 first period
FIRST PERIOD!!!
McKee with a huge save on a Haggett breakaway. PP coming up for Brown.
Haggett on breakaway, McKee makes save, interference on Cornell.
Brown scores on PP after Downs called for holding.
1-1. Damn. Brown scores on the pp.
Is the Brown feed on a delay cuz David posted the Brown goal before I heard it?
QuoteJustin Nachod '04 wrote:

FIRST PERIOD!!!
Is the crowd doing this now? I didn't notice it at the tOSU game.
If you go by the Brown announcers, it seems like the bears just won the stanley cup. Homers? I think so.
I think the naming of the period following a goal has been something that's been going on for a while now.
I've noticed that the feed sometimes is delayed depending on your bandwidth and so I'll be messaging with someone and hear about goals etc. before they do.
Danis stones Vesce on a 2 on 1 for Cornell
Danis makes save on Vesce on a 2 on 1.
Yeah I think my Media Player is delaying every now and then so it adds up.
The naming of the period has been happening more or less since I've been here, but not everyone does it, so it's not as loud.
1-1, end 1st
So far a close and even game, both teams giving each other few chances but both managing to capitalize once.
The Rams recover the onside kick!!!! (okay that was off topic..........)
funny, the radio guys have spent the past 5 minutes laying out all the explanations for why Brown has about as many fans at the game as Cornell does...
And the Rams drive down to the 25.
It seems that several of us have a sports bar like atmosphere at home this evening with football on TV and hockey on the radio.
2nd is underway.
Post Edited (01-10-04 19:51)
Yup! Rams let the clock run down and take the FG to tie instead of trying to go for the TD. (???)
QuoteFrench Rage wrote:
And the Rams drive down to the 25.
And tie it up. OT.
Penalty coming up on Brown for interference
they're probably somewhat confident in OT thanks to the homefield
Brown announcers still whining about Vesce and interference...
Edit:
Brown called for inteference, Browns announcers bitching...
Brown announcers continue to whine, insisting that Carefoot took a dive....
Knoepfli hits the post!
Knoepfli hits post, Cook shot blocked...30 seconds into PP
[q]they're probably somewhat confident in OT thanks to the homefield
[/q]
Yeah but if Carolina gets the ball, it doesnt take much to get a FG and win. I would at least take a shot or two for the TD instead of risking a loss in OT.
Brown back to even strength...
It's just his sixth game this year -- was he in last night's game? If not, who's the healthy scratch tonight?
....and they still suck!!
4 on 4 action coming up. Vesce in the box for Cornell
Penatly on Vesce and a Brom guy...4x4 coming up
QuoteAvash '05 wrote:

I love the Brown crew. They are blatant, unrepentant, screaming homers. Listening to Brown - Harvard is the best.
Good god, the Brown announcers are such whiners...
I would too but, then again, I hate the Rams so I'm happy they're giving themselves more chances to lose.
Shit, Panthers down to the Rams' 20!
In the football game, Carolina down to the 20, looks like they'll probably win this one (unfortunately).
back to 5 on 5...McKee with a big save on the Brown player coming out of the box!!
The internet broadcast is lagging. I need you all to disconnect now so I can listen to the broadcast without it dropping out every 5 seconds.
"ahhh, yeeaahh. . . if you could do that, that would be greeaaat . . . thanks"
:-P
8:05 left in the second period.
Hey, any fellow Patriots fans on the board right now?
I've started to get annoyed by the "dragged down by" silliness It is as if they think they are playing no-contact flag hockey.
Ummm....Travis, I think I'm going to have to have you come in on Saturday....
See if there's an option to increase your buffer size. I'm listening on Linux with mplayer, and mplayer has some huge (like 2 minute) buffer, so there's no chance of it periodically dropping out. :)
Cheers,
Kyle
Let's go Pats/Red!
Quite the chess match in this football game. Moves and counter moves and counter-counter moves.
My feed has been sporadic, but the game is still tied 1-1
CAROLINA MISSES THE FG!!!
Penalty on cornell: Contact to the head/roughing
Oh boy, this is intense. First Carolina misses the field goal, now Carefoot hits the post followed by Danis robbing Iggulden with a glove save
2 posts in the last 30 seconds for Cornell....
Roughing coming on Pegoraro.
Brown to the PP.
and now HYNES hits the post....and Pegoraro takes a penalty (?!)
Shots on goal, post hit, saves by Danis.
Carolina makes the FG, but gets delay on game. Tries for 2 more downs to gain ground but cant. Casey misses the 45 yd FG, hooks to the right after looking like it would be good.
Post....lucky sieve...post.....darn Brown PP
PP killed.
No.
Go Titans!
:13 seconds left on the PP
a couple nice Brown chances but McKee with a good save
....And Brown is now 1 for 2 on the PP
McKees makes some saves, 13 seconds on PP, cleared out, end of PP
Can we at least agree on "Go RED" then? :-D
End of 2nd.
1-1.
RaMS KICK SHORT
1-1, end 2nd.
And this football game is crazy.
Wow, my feed must be really far behind.
Post Edited (01-10-04 20:18)
Wilkins short on a 53 yarder, still tied.
End of 2nd, 1-1, Cornell sounding better than Brown.
Yeah :-}
on another note:
"them being ranked ninth in the country, there always seems to be extra words to the officials for Cornell..." (or something to that effect)....
we should start collecting quotes from all the stupid stupid shit the Brown announcers say.
carolina just punted
i cant stand these whiners of announcers. gimme a freakin break.
princeton up on clarkson
NE beating UHN
'gate and hahvahd tied
"they [Princeton] have a good goaltender" - brown announcer 1
"all that's all you need to keep you in the game" (not exact quote) - brown announcer 2
yeah, your team has been perfect example of that truth for the past few years.
ah, that's great. the announcers were trying to joke about when they'll start putting on their makeup for a tv broadcast they have to do (brown v. uconn), and generally how they've been told they have "radio faces."
Rams throw INT, Carolina with it as 1st OT ends.
To go slightly off-topic:
What's up with Clarkson? When I was a student (94-98), Clarkson was our biggest rivalry in the sense that they were the biggest competition for us. They seem to have completely dropped off the radar the past few years, coincidentally with the disappearance of the Clarkson Hockey Roundtable (ah, memories...). Anyone have any insight into this?
Cheers,
Kyle
Bulger threw another INT. And the Panther OL apparently hates Delhomme.
Thanks Kyle, I'll try that. I don't like the latest mplayer, I've still got v6.4, and I see there's an option to increase buffer, but I've probably got to reconnect to have it take effect, and I'm afraid to try that. I might though.
LGR!
- Travis
Now they're mocking the Cornell band...
PANTHERS WIN
steve smith on the fly pattern. nice! :-D
the announcers for brom just mentioned that lenny leaving was the best thing for danis the anus - so true!
Shit! Panthers win. Does this mean after the Packers beat the Eagles that the NFC Championship will be in Carolina?
How is this for a Brown quote:
[Q]People say that Cornell is the Duke basketball of college hockey. I prefer to think that Duke is the Cornell hockey of college basketball. They've been doing if for longer...[/Q]
or
[q]The best thing that happened to Denis is Leneveu leaving.[/q]
Now I really like these guys.
3rd about to start...
Other scores after two:
SLU 2 Yale 1
RPI 2 Union 0
Harvard 2 Colgate 1
Post Edited (01-10-04 20:39)
It's I-goal-den, not I-ghoul-den!!
Other scores:
RPI 2 Union 1
Harvard 2 Colgate 1
Dartmouth 1 Vermont 1
SLU 2 Yale 1
14:26 left in the third period in this one
I'm gonna start taking a drink every time they say Vesce should be called for interference. ::nut:: ::yark:: ::screwy::
and K-nop-fli not Nop-fli ::demented::
Penalty coming to Brown.
11:43 to go.
sounds like Brown is getting some pressure, but...
Vesce on a breakaway and he gets hooked down. HAHA and the Brown announcers say he took a dive......
Vesce hooked on breakaway, PP coming up!
Unless you're a Brown announcer, in which case Vesce dove!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
My god, will they stop whining??!!
now the announcers say Cornell keeps getting caught with too many men on the ice ::rolleyes::
not surprisingly, they insist that Colgate was guilty of the same last night. Riiiiiight.
PP still going on....
And Brown's Pascal Denis gets called for unsportsmanlike conduct (knocking the net off). Another PP for Cornell now.
Another PP with 9:45 to play....
Brown hits the post on a shortie attempt.
:50 to go on the PP
oh boy. Brown with a great shorthanded chance and they just miss (post maybe). wow. still 1-1. :47 to go on the PP, 8 and a half to go in the game...
Brown hits post on Cornell PP, which comes from a brown player knocking the net off, though the Brown announcers claim he was pushed.
7:45 to go, back to 5 on 5
Brown going to the PP.
Wodon sees it as a borderline call to even up the PP's
Uh oh. Penalty called on O'Byrne
Cornell called for intereference, which the announcers seem to be coming in their pants over.
6:05 remaining in the third, :50 to go in the PP
Glove save by McKee and even the Brown announcers praise it! (and I hear the band playing the Superman theme)
5 minutes left, back to even strength
....Cornell kills off the penalty
QuoteFrench Rage:
Cornell called for intereference, which the announcers seem to be coming in their pants over.
Gross, yet surprisingly accurate.
todd is a tool
Anyone know the SOGs?
approximately halfway through the third in both games:
Dartmouth 2 Vermont 1
Clarkson 4 Princeton 4
....and a couple good scoring chances there for Brown.
[q]todd is a tool[/q]
shut up tyhach
Haha...from finding out what happened from Adam, I can't wait to see the report about what the Brown announcers are saying about it.
Edit: referring to the hit on Glover and subsequent penalty to Brown.
Post Edited (01-10-04 21:03)
PP for Cornell
"This is horrific" "My silence should speak volumes"
1:35 left
PP for Cornell
"This is horrific" "My silence should speak volumes" "Cornell's just working off reputation right now"
1:35 left
Boarding penalty on Brown. Cornell going on the PP at 18:25 of the third...
1 min to go in regulation
Speaking of silence....maybe it's rather fortunate that my feed seems to have completely died now. It was very sporadic the past couple minutes, but is gooooone.
Cornell goal waived off, quick whistle by Kotyra
Puck ends up in Brown net, but whistle had blown.
Danis gets glove save on Moulson shot.
Yeah, I'm relying 100% on the board now. Townies up!
End of regulation. To OT we go...
:25 on the PP left for Cornell.
It seems, by the Brown announcers accounts, the entire world is against Brown.
And the call against Brown (boarding?) roughly 18 min. into the 3rd is just due to Cornell "going on their reputation now".
Cornell PP
40 seconds to go and Danis is standing on his head apparently.
25 seconds of Cornell powerplay to start the overtime period
OT again.
... right.. my internet broadcast is a bit behind. Thanks elynah you're all I've got. :-)
End of the 3rd. :25 seconds of a PP going into OT. Cornell should better be careful in this extra session in case Kotyra is looking to "even up" the calls
PP over.
Vesce deflection put just wide....
Another PP.
So whose scored so far for both teams?
Thanks guys
Penalty on Brown in OT for cross-checking Vesce!
PP for Cornell.
Cross-checking to Brown.
Vesce the victim.
Cornell to the PP.
Wodon laughing at the Brown announcers. Brown announcers said "Even the Cornell announcer is laughing." Wodon yells back, "No guys...I was just laughing at you."
Oh my; another penalty on Brown
Crosscheck on Vesce for Brown, Cornell PP
"This is an embarassment to hockey fans".
Adam is apparently laughing at them in the next booth.
This is hilarious listening to the Brown announcers whine about this PP
How much time?
Time out called by Schafer. Resting the first PP unit to keep them on the ice. (And hopefully drawing up the winning goal :-) )
3:16 left. Cornell calls TO to set up the play on the pp.
Vermont up 3-2 on Dartmouth with 5 left in the 3rd
Harvard up 3-1 on Colgate with :30 left
PP killed.
About 2:15 to go...
My favorite line thus far from the great Brown announcers...
After the penality against Brown in OT..
1st guy: "Even the Cornell annoucers are laughing."
2nd guy: "They are laughing at us!"
These guys are simply awful to listen to.
5x5 agin, 2:15 left in OT
Brown goal.
3 on 2 rush.
2-1 Final.
Brown wins.
Brown wins. Damn it.
::uhoh::
Brown scores, shit.
Mike Meech with the game-winner.
3:30 time of the goal.
Cornell defender was caught pinching in leading to an odd-man rush.
And obviously, not cashing in on 4 PP's in the final 10 minutes or so hurts a lot.
QuoteMel '00 wrote:

I have to say, aside from the whining (which is considerable) these guys are actually a very good team on the nuts and bolts of the game. The call on the game winning goal was very well done.
Post Edited (01-10-04 21:21)
Well, Dartmouth lost too, so overall we still have the edge in the ECAC in pts/gm (since Brown has played alot more games). This will hurt in PWR as long as Brown is a TUC, but the Dartmouth game in 2 weeks will still be important in this regard. Overall, a close and tough game.
I still think, as they head back home for 9 home games in the remaining 14, that the team is in a good situation compared to what most of us have hoped for. We're still at the top of the ECAC and can hopefully get on another great spring run. If things work out right, we still have a chance of a good enough PWR to be an at-large team, but the main goal should be winning in Albany.
hey guys
it was nice listening to adam on the way back to ithaca. outcome sucked...adam mentioned that he was laughing at the brown announcers at the point of the penalty call and they thought he was laughing at the call. the brown announcers do call a technically good game, just a little homerish is all :)
i am looking forward to the home games next weekend.
My comments on the game:
- Danis is a good goaltender, but in this game, he was not the great goaltender that his previous numbers may tout him to be. He came up lucky on more than a few bounces of the puck. At least in this game, I don't think he stood on his head any more than McKee did. (To be fair, McKee also got lucky on a few bounces.)
- I have to learn to stop underestimating Brown's newfound offense this year. They had a hard time getting real control of the puck in our zone in the first period (except on the power play where they scored--that was a real rarity for that period), but for the rest of the game, they came out strong on offense.
- Whoever arranges the canned music at Meehan needs to be taken out and shot.
- When did Brown obtain a goon squad?
QuoteFrench Rage wrote:

Looks like the gods don't look too kindly on woofing in football either... ::nut:: :-D
Brown has always had a goon squad. Whoever yelled "Everytime we play them, someone gets hurt" (Mike?) was right on.
