Title: ECAC Player of the Week
Post by: littleredfan on February 28, 2002, 10:50:53 PM
I was just reading Blaeser/Moy's column for 2/28 (http://www.uscho.com/m/ec/?data=preview) and it says Doug Murray was ECAC player of the week last week!

The ECAC is slow in putting info like this out on their own website, so we have to resort to these little columsn to get our info, but regardless....

Congrats Dougie!!! :)

edit: heres the release:

ECAC Avaya Player of Week: Doug Murray, Cornell, Jr., D, Bromma, Sweden

Notched a career-high four points in Saturday's 5-3 win over Clarkson. He scored twice and added two assists, including one on the game-winner. Murray finished with a +4 rating on the weekend, and leads all conference defensemen with 28 points.

I could've sworn that Murray had 2 goals and 3 assists, but I guess either I misheard or one of them got changed.  Or maybe the ECAC screwed up.  It certainly wouldn't be the first time that happened.  :-)

Tom, I thought I'd heard that too.  According to the USCHO box score, Murray didn't assist on the ENG.  Even so, 2 and 2 is pretty darn good.

Grady announced it as an assist originally.  I didn't know it had been changed.

I remember their being a couple scoring changes in the game.  He was probably one of them.

I called it as it happened with Vesce starting it up from his own end to Kozier to Baby who scored.  Appeared to be pretty cut and dried as I viewed it.  But then the offical scoring was announced as Murray (instead of Vesce) getting the assist.  Thus the 5 point night that wasn't after changing the scoring after the game had ended and we had gone off the air without being informed of the change.
