Here ya go, Avash, I'll try to remember to update it... anyone else feel free to post too.

Schafer very forthcoming in the pre-game... he says Marr is "a long, long way" from being ready to play, health-wise. He also came down the flu.
Louis would of course play if McKee couldn't, but Schafer said that Louis doesn't have the skills yet.
Gleed out for a few weeks for a jaw injury from the Harvard game.
Game not quite underway... anthems soon.
Game underway
11 PM here in Tel Aviv. Easier to follow Cornell games live than it has been following the Flames games at 4 AM.
Is anyone else not getting the audio feed?
coming in loud and clear for me in Buffalo
first tv timeout for you punks that are watching it on TV... :-( :-)
From where did you launch it? All I get when I pull up the link is errors.
Goal for the Red on the Power play!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!
Moulson!
And Greg, I changed browsers... IE dealt with the links fine... Firebird/Mozilla didn't know what program to use, but I found this out yesterday.
I used the link that Justin posted to sign up for a 14 day trial and then it loaded it self up after registering...
http://elf.elynah.com/read.php?f=1&i=30516&t=30516
any other lineup changes besides Salmela in for Gleed?
No, I'm using the same browser and same config as always. I'm asking what page you launched it from -- url?
Shane Hynes gets pulled down...Another PP for the Big Red...
could someone pls post the audio link for the game? thanx
good to hear from you, Ari! Didn't sound like there were any other changes...Marr didn't make the trip to Florida...
assists on the moulson goal?
no free audio for this game, yoou have to sign up for the sports pass or the 14 day free trial...Justin posted the link in another thread that is aptly titled...

Adam, hope everything is okay with your family.
Sure seems like Marr has taken a drastic step back in his progress. He was dressing and seemed to be pretty close earlier in the month. Now, he is clearly far away from returning.
Not that it matters much, but Mike Stachurski quit the team a couple weeks ago. Saw him practice with the team earlier in the year and he was FAR behind any of the other defensemen, including Pajerski. Would never have played.
I paid for the audio subscription. The pages I usually load from are not working -- something has changed since the last game (yes, I know about the changed password, I have done that as well). I am asking what page you loaded the stream from, since it is working for you.
5:03 left in the period...shots are 7-3 Cornell...momentum has swung in our favor
not sure if this will help (it probably won't) but this is the address I have in my browser:
http://cornellbigred.ocsn.com/realone/multimedia.html
Another Big Red powerplay
McKee doesn't have to make a big save as Notre Dame shoots it at his chest on the shorthanded opportunity
is this the third cornell powerplay? zero for ND thus far?
yes, third powerplay...no, Cornell gave up another early penalty to start the game...Notre Dame seemed to come out fast
Off the cross bar for Cornell... 16 seconds left in the period
Do people want me to do frequent updates? I don't want to pollute the thread if it isn't beneficial for anyone...
so mckee is feeling better, or we didn't have another choice?
did they say if gleed would be back in by harvard/brown? sucks he's out. he was starting to do very well.
definitive edge to cornell this period?
End 1, still 1-0
YES. Updates very much appreciated.
updates are nice, i dont get the tv here in nj and i didnt bother to register for the free trial which i hear charges you regardless
definitely want frequent updates. thanks.
dartmouth 1, umass 1 after per 1
bc 2 mich 0 with 7 min left to play
Sounds like a good game so far. The audio feed from the cable is very good.
It's about time we start getting some good luck. We've certainly hit enough crossbars and posts recently, it's nice to see another team get frustrated by them.
make that 3-0 bc over u mich
yup, definitive edge for Cornell...Adam W and co were saying that the ND goalie didn't have to make spectacular saves but that he was under constant pressure and maintained good position through out the period...Notre Dame started out fast but the ice tilted in Cornells favor once we started getting power plays. Moulson got the goal from Knoepfli and Cook at 8:35
BC sounds really, really good this year.
team looks great here on hdtv. strong period - after scoring on the pp, the last two pps have been harder to set up it seems as UND is being more aggressive. a few posts that period for UND and they have had their chances but david has made some nice saves. back to the game :)
Adam, thanks. (Game Pass attempts to tell you your Game Pass subscription has expired by connecting you to Game Pass, which fails. Clever system. ;-)
Got it all worked out.
Thanks for the updates, all.
how's the audio coming for you GB?
bc goalie serving a 2game suspension, i dunno why
mich starter out also, maybe because of team usa?
final score bc 4-1
Post Edited (12-27-03 16:54)
Agreed on BC. My preseason pick to win it all. Sure seems like a two horse race between UND and BC. Then there are 10-15 teams that are pretty even but clearly a notch below UND and BC. That being said, based on what we have seen in the NCAAs in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if the National Champion was somebody OTHER than UND or BC.
Michigan's starter Al Montoya is with the US Junior team. The other goalie on the US team is Maine starter Jim Howard.
yeah, Montoya is playing for the US U-20 team...they beat Austria 8-0 (61 shots!!!!) yesterday with Zach Parise getting two goals and an assist, I believe
Post Edited (12-27-03 16:54)
BC really looks good (I did get a chance to catch the first two periods of the game on TV here). Excellent passing and goaltending. This team is going to do really well this year.
Who is the alleged "home" team in this game?
US and Canada definitely the top two teams at the WJC this year, though Russia is not that far behind. If Zherdev was still with Russia (left for the Blue Jackets) then it would be a different story.
We're the home team
BC is without one of their top liners in Pat Eaves. Still, Voce and Ben Eaves along with Shannon, Gionta, Boyle, Pineault and this team has some serious fire power. Still, the team has underachieved from the point of view of some of their close fans who argue that their results do not quite tell the whole story.
Should also be noted that Notre Dame beat BC 1-0 earlier in this year mostly attributed to a stand on head performance from UND's freshman goalie who made like 50 saves that game.
Changed scoring on goal:
1 8:30 Cor pp Knoepfli 2 (Moulson 12, Cook 8)
Cornell is wearing the whites.
Just got back from watching the first period.
Everything here sounds about right....Notre Dame looked good and fast in the early going....a lot of up and down play early...neither team really having great control of the puck for too long.
As the CU powerplays started kicking in, we began to take control, working along the boards, etc...more classic Cornell hockey. The 2nd PP was very sloppy; never really had control of the puck.
Overall, a good period considering a 3 week layoff. Unfortunately, I'm headed out and won't watch the rest.
Let's Go Red!
[q]Changed scoring on goal:
1 8:30 Cor pp Knoepfli 2 (Moulson 12, Cook 8)
[/q]
I thought it seemed weird that everyone was giving it to Moulson. It was a clear rebound wristed back in by Knoepfli.
second period start yet?
sorry have missed the start of the 2nd period...just heard "McKee makes another save!" from Adam...is Notre Dame coming out fast again?
wow -- granted, some of it was the ND player not getting it up high enough, but McKee just made an amazing save off of a rebound, sprawling to right to cover the open side of the net.
ND started with an early pp and had a few good chances; McKee made one great save.
Post Edited (12-27-03 17:07)
interview with McKee between the 2nd and 3rd periods...stay tuned
Is anyone taping the game? If so, could you email me at my Cornell account (click on my profile)? Thanks!
how much time left in the second?
shots?
would someone be able to at least partially transcribe the interview with mckee? i'd love to know what they ask and what he responds.
and it really sucks that marr's out. i wonder if he'll play at all this year...
LGR!
McCutcheon gets some shots on net and Brown is able to hold on to the puck
yup, I'll let you know what is said
sure doesn't seem as if Marr will be playing this year.
Thanks!
Notre Dame goes on their third power play with 11 something to go...TV timeout
Estero is posting the shots on the score board but I haven't heard an update from Adam
sounds like Notre Dame is getting some chances on this power play
how bout a cornell goal to wake me up. dozing off over here.........just past midnight.
McKee holds on after anticipating the short side shot
McKee makes a quick pad save as the power play ends
Shots are 12-2 this period for Notre Dame! ::yark::
> Estero is posting the shots on the score board but I haven't heard an update from Adam
Shots were 10-5 Cprnell after the first, 11-11 midway through the previous ND pp.
Shots are now 12-2 ND in this period, and 17-12 ND overall.
Cornell is having problems getting it into the zone
2 on 1...Pegs held on to it too long and couldn't get the shot off...Penalty on Notre Dame...power play!
Cornell pp upcoming.
Cornell has the power play set up and is getting good movement...lots of one timers
Score! Chris Abbott on the rebound as Brown was stuck on his back!
CHRIS ABBOTT!!
Pegs gets his first point of the year...16:37 Pegs is the only assist so far
2 16:37 Cor pp Chris Abbott 2 (Pegoraro 1)
Pegoraro finally gets his first point 12 games into the season
Is it possible that Marr will apply for a medical red-shirt, giving him an extra year of eligibility next year?
End of the second period... 2-0 both goals on the power play
don't have to be watching the game to know that that second goal was HUGE
doubtful since he has dressed for games
Any goal for Cornell is huge ;-)
who scored the goals
1 8:30 Cor pp Knoepfli 2 (Moulson 12, Cook 8)
2 16:37 Cor pp Chris Abbott 2 (Pegoraro 1)
UND controlled that period but cornell got the huge goal #2. david made some sweet saves.
back to the game
LGR
thanks
Sat Jan 3, Bowl with the Red 5-7pm at Helen Newman...if you're in Ithaca stop by!
McKee likes the warm weather...used to the type of ice in Florida since its similar to that in Texas
Adam: Did you know you would come to Cornell eventually?
McKee: It was certain but he deferred and was going to play with Naimo (sp is wrong)...the short notice didn't throw off his preparation since he was preparing for Naimo
Academically prepared?
It's been rough...wanted to take classes in BC before coming to Cornell...feeling better about his classes now though
Challenged by following Lenny?
Block it all out...tries to go out and play as best as possible
Know the tradition of Cornell goalies?
He did know...really wanted to be a part of it. Really liked the amazing coaching staff. Was looking at a lot of schools...came down to the players and coaching staff.
Really happy with all of the time that he's been getting but feels sorry for Todd. Happy he can make an early impression. He likes the pressure.
Adam: Coach has gotten on your case a few times but you've responded well
McKee: McKee puts more pressure on himself than anyone else and always wants to win.
Adam: First game was an exhibition game...thoughts
McKee: The fans at Lynah are unbelievable...lots of kids are in his classes. Saw games the year before and it is so different between the stands and on the ice. Can't hear yourself think on the ice. He heard the rumors about the fish with Harvard. The Harvard game was his best experience of his life thus far.
Adam: Heros growing up in Texas...
McKee: his father, helped him with confidence and finding places to play. Hockey is booming in Texas now...has gone from 500 players to 8000 players in 7 or 8 years. Dallas Stars take a lot of the credit.
Adam: How did you get into Hockey...
McKee: Got into it because his older friends played. Was forced to go to the Stars second game and got hooked on hockey in 1993.
Adam: What do you need to improve?
McKee: Need to stay physical and aggressive.
Adam: You personally?
McKee: play faster...making trasition to cold weather at Cornell has been difficult
There you have it...sorry it was rough...tried to get it out ASAP...third period is under way
Post Edited (12-27-03 17:51)
umass up 3-2 on dartmouth
Game on.
Back and forth in the first 2 mins.
ND going on pp.
Post Edited (12-27-03 17:49)
Notre Dame has to press to get back into the game...the Big Red pull down a player as he gets loose in front of the net...Glover is the guilty party...PP for ND
pp killed off.
15:07 in regulation.
thanks for the interview. that was great. =)
(was the mention of marr said on a whim or was he asked about it? just curious)
Goal! Amazing shot! A laser! Maybe went off the stick of a defender! 6:21 from Knoepfli, assists from Hynes and Wallace!!
3 6:21 Cor Knoepfli 3 (Hynes 4, Wallace 3)
OByrne hauls down his player as he gets beat...another PP for ND
He was asked if he was happy to get so many minutes in place of Marr...and he turned it around saying he wasn't happy or lucky that Todd was injured...he was just happy that he was able to perform well when given the opportunity.
back to 5 on 5...Adam thinks ND has had the better play this period but Cornell has a real cushion...they're happy with how McKee has played...As I'm typing...GOAL Pegeraro! His first of the season!
Post Edited (12-27-03 18:01)
For those like me who have neither audio nor video feed....

gotcha.
3rd goal- woohoo!!!
(i think i cheered a bit too loud on that last one, as the family is giving me some strange looks. :-D )
9:20 Knoepfli and Hynes on the assists?
1 08:30 Cor Knoepfli 2 (Moulson 12, Cook 8) pp
2 16:37 Cor Chris Abbott 2 (Pegoraro 1) pp
3 06:21 Cor Knoepfli 3 (Hynes 4, Wallace 3)
3 09:20 Cor Pegoraro 1 (Hynes 5, Knoepfli 8)
Post Edited (12-27-03 18:04)
haha, awesome link! Thanks!
Another penalty on the Red...this time on Hornby...6th PP for ND
ND on two man advantage.
Nope, Adam reverses himself -- still 5-on-4.
Post Edited (12-27-03 18:05)
5 on 4 as ND gets the diving penalty..."how do you get a diving penalty when the other team is penalized?"
Who do we want to play tomorrow? I'd like to play Maine because it would be a great barometer as to where we are at the mid point of the season but I'd love to avenge the early season result with Ohio State.
Post Edited (12-27-03 18:07)
After the timeout, another penalty on ND...the 5th PP for Cornell
Post Edited (12-27-03 18:09)
Maine will be without Jim Howard who is vastly overrated anyways (in my opinion)
We might as well play the best possible opponent. I doubt Cornell has a shot at an at large even if they run rampant through the league, but hey, gives em the best possible chance.
Post Edited (12-27-03 18:09)
Would definitely be nice to get another crack at ohio state, but playing a highly regarded and highly overrated team like maine would also be nice.
Back to 5-on-5. 4:57 to go.
back to even strength
Dartmouth 3, UMass 3 3rd
Wayne St 1, Brown 1 mid 2nd
highly over rated? Granted their big wins were their first two games (Minnesota and Wisconsin), but their two losses came on the road at UNH and BC...that isn't over rated, IMO. If anything, people could say we are over rated based on our PWR
Post Edited (12-27-03 18:17)
Is PWR out yet?
Cornell pp coming up.
PP #6 for the Red
when you see the team play, you'll know they are definitely not the third best team in the country as they are ranked. they are well coached but still are not even close to the caliber of BC or UND. I expect that they will fall off just as they did last season. Don't forget their hot start last season and how the second half ended up. their big names like Jackson and Shields have really started to cool down after hot starts. their strong defensive scheme will cover it up for the short term but I am not even remotely confident in their goaltending and the defensive scheme will eventually crumble as a result like last year. overrated.
http://slack.net/~whelan/tbrw/tbrw.cgi?pwr
Thought I could manage to get away from family fun to find a local DirectTV enabled tavern, but couldn't. Great to hear that the Knoepfi-Hynes-Pegoraro line has finally made an impact. I've been waiting for that break-out moment from them.
Post game and then Ohio State and Maine! I'll post some of Adams thought from the post game (three stars, etc)
You dodged the question about us being over rated... ;-)
at 22, cornell isn't placed all that bad especially if they can come up with another win tomorrow. if they can crack the top 12, they'll be in good shape for an at large bid. with all inner conference games in the second half, they SHOULD be poised to win a fair amount and get up their in the PWR. of course, their results against the Browns, Dartmouths, Harvards, and even RPI's will be VERY important in determining their PWR standing. Regardless, win the ECAC post season and we don't have to worry about it. Anything can happen in the playoffs.
That's the ninth Cornell shutout in the 2003 calendar year.
Adam, we can talk about Maine later. It's 1:22 here and I'm going to bed. Talk to you guys tomorrow night. Good win. Big win. Big game tomorrow.
Someone check my math: 151:39 of straight shutout time for McKee now, right?
Adam: thanks in advance for relaying the post-game thoughts, and transcription of the McKee interview. I had 870 AM just fine in Rochester, and then they had to power-down right near the end of the 1st period. I'll watch the Final (Great to say that) in Ithaca.
It's the first time Cornell has advanced to the Championship of "their own tournament"...Cornells first power play really changed the momentum of the first period after ND came out quickly. ND dominated most of the 2nd period, 14-7 on shots in favor of ND during the period, but Cornell was able to hold off ND and increase the lead to 2. Cornell was the "quick strike" team tonight. Knoepfli's "bolt of lightning" was a very impressive goal and McKee made a sick save when he dove head first to block an open side of the net. After the 4 goal lead, Schafer gave some of the guys that are lower on the depth chart more playing time instead of pressing for Knoepfli's hat trick.
Three stars of the game...coming up
night! Thanks for hanging out and chatting!
Tony's Three stars
3. Pegeraro
2. Knoepfli
1. McKee, shutout and quality saves in the second and third periods
Thanks everyone for the game updates :-)
Until tomorrow....
yup, I'm out too! Great win even if the score doesn't necessarily convey the flow of the game!
Pregame is at 4:00pm and the puck drops at 4:30
wow for some reason i thought the game was on at 7 and i MISSED it.. oh well, thanks for the updates and WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who are we playing tomorrow? I confused myself
QuoteAdam Brown wrote:

Nope. They beat OSU and lost to Maine in the championship game in the first year of the tourney.
HC: We play the winner of the 7:30 OSU-Maine game. We should know our opponent in a couple of hours.
[Q]Adam Brown wrote:

It was great to see Knoepfli, Carefoot, and McCutcheon play forward for a shift during the last power play. I thought it was a nice combination of giving fourth-line freshman power-play time and giving Mike Knoepfli an opportunity to score his third goal. Also, Evan Salmela played with Ben Wallace on that shift.
Knoepfli had a great chance for a hat trick earlier in the period, but Scott Brown stopped his shot from the slot.
Other than the first 16 or so minutes of the second period, Cornell played great hockey. Let's hope the third-period comeback against Brown proves to be the turning point of the season.
Post Edited (12-28-03 01:13)
OSU up 2-0 in 2nd, Maine playing very poorly.
I can't believe it. I thought we were the late game. :-( I have nobody to blame but myself, I guess.
Are we DEFINITELY the early game tomorrow?
Big win. We needed to slap around an OOC team. Congrats to the guys.
According to uscho, the game is at 430.
Quotedss28 wrote:

The consolation game is at 1pm EST followed by the championship game--supposedly at 4:30.
thanks for the correction!
Ohio State 4, Maine 2 F
Maine was underprepared for this game. They came out slow and were very sloppy for much of the game. We have an opportunity to get some revenge on Ohio State tomorrow
Am I crazy to have actually wished to take on Maine instead of Ohio State tomorrow? Granted, Maine has been ranked higher in the polls, but Ohio State already played us this year and would theoretically remember how we play better than Maine would.
Well, half the team didn't make it down there until 3am because of flight cancellations and delays due to fog.
How bout McKee today??? He's really stepped up his game. While some of his saves were very acrobatic, it's even more encouraging that he was making a lot of solid stops just from having good positioning on the shooter.
His current shutout streak is now at 151 minutes, 39 seconds. The Cornell record is 189:48, set by Brian Cropper during the season.
Two more periods will do it.
I was actually hoping that we would play Maine tomorrow, but for a different reason (if my reasoning is sound).
Our non-conference performance up to this point in the season had been bad. So, my reasoning was that playing and beating a higher ranked team would help us out more, and losing to them can't do too much damage. Playing a lower ranked team (albeit higher than us) seems to me would be a 0 sum gain.
As to the point of OSU knowing how we play, 2 points against that reasoning. 1st, I think we've developed quite a bit from the beginning of the season, so in effect, I think we are a different team. 2nd, if, however, they do know how we play, then we know how they play, and Coach Schafer is pretty good at figuring teams out, so I don't think we'd be at any particular disadvantage.
Just my $0.02.
Report from Estero: Very impressed with McKee - terrific positioning and poise, despite heavy ND pressure in 2nd period and parts of third. Never seemed to get flustered at all. Our penalties were either on freshman, who will learn to get better position rather than take the penalty, or on Hornby. Of all the freshman, O'Byrne appeared to be the one having the most trouble adjusting to playing at this level - but that's a quick one game conclusion and I'm sure he'll improve immensely.
On a lighter note, in between the 1st and 2nd period, Traveling Faithful Larry Weintraub and Jeff Newman defeated two ND fans in the "alligator race." Although Mike Craine didn't win the bicycle race after the 2nd period, he quickly reminded his ND opponent of the real contest, by pointing up to the center ice scoreboard.

http://uscollegehockey.com/recaps/20032004/m/12/27/nd-cor.php
Frank Doyle just made an awesome save to keep Maine down by only one to Notre Dame with seven some minutes left in the second. A win by Notre Dame would be...um...good
Link to listen to the game is here:

Notre Dame wins over Maine 1-0...undoubtedly, an indirect victory for us. :-D
Notre Dame pulls out the win 1-0 as Maine drops two this weekend! I guess Ari was right about Maine... ;-)
Second year in a row that the favored team does very poorly in this tournament.
Good news for Cornell. Now if they can win tonight, they might see their PWR rise to meet their ranking next week. ;-)
And second year in a row that the consolation game is a 1-0 score ::nut::
