Title: Web links about today's Notre Dame game
Post by: jnachod on December 27, 2003, 10:06:05 AM
Notre Dame men's ice hockey page: http://und.ocsn.com/sports/m-hockey/nd-m-hockey-body.html

There is a link to their weekly press release on that page, which includes, among other things:

[q]LONG BREAK: When the Irish drop the puck with Cornell on Dec. 27 in Estero, Fla., it will be the first game for Notre Dame in 21 days. The last game the Irish played came on Dec. 6 at Western Michigan, a 6-4 loss to the Broncos. Since Dec. 6, the Irish have had just three practices before breaking for finals on Thurs., Dec. 10. The lone practice the Irish will have since Dec. 9 will come on Dec. 26 at Teco Arena. [/q]

There is no free link for audio over the Internet.  There is a 14 day free trial of the Real-one college sports pass, which is sufficient to listen to any games this weekend plus the Harvard game in January: http://cornellbigred.ocsn.com/cgi-bin/accipiter/adclick.exe/CID=00006a5a0000000000000000/SITE=corn/ADTYPE=260_top/CATEGORY=library/DIR=library/MACRO=school/POS=260_top

They've had one practice since December 9th?  Surely there are captain's practices or some skating since that date.  I can't possibly imagine they've been cold turkey for almost 3 weeks.  Maybe individuals skate, but they haven't had an organized team practice since that date.  Anyone know more about this?  What does Cornell do?

From the CornellBigRed site:

"Cornell's last games were Dec. 5-6. The Big Red then had final exams and a chance to escape campus for a few days to spend time with family before returning to Ithaca on Dec. 25th. The team will have just two practices in nearly two weeks before facing the Fighting Irish on Dec. 27."
