Two first quarter TDs from the offense bracketing a pick from our D have the Big Red up 14-0 in the first quarter. The first TD drive included a 4th down conversion immediately followed by a double-pass for a wide open ~30 yard TD. The second was a GBS sneak after flying down the field.
Good Georgetown drive end with a failed 4th and 4 pass from the 5. Three quick first downs including a 40 yard pass to Kurtz has Cornell back to the Hoya 20.
Drive stalls at the 20 and Zhao pulls the kick way wide.
Brutal busted coverage on 4th and 9 from the 40 leads to a wide open receiver with a free path to the end zone for a Georgetown TD. 4:16 remaining in the half. 14-7. Made more painful because a Cornell DB dropped an easy pick-6 that hit him in the hands on second down.
Kick return from the 2 to the 38. Great catch from Musungu for 20 on first down. Incomplete pass and a nice tackle of Triplett has Cornell at 3d and 8, jailbreak blitz forces another incomplete. 4th down quick kick inside the 10. Totally unnecessary chop block by Cornell moves the ball out to the 25.
Cornell's run defense hasn't been great but they get the RB in the backfield on first down for a loss of 4. Hoyas let the clock run down to the 2 minute warning.
Run D really buckles down and forces a punt on 4th and 8 with 1:45 remaining after Cornell used a pair of time outs. Heck of a punt drives Cornell back to their own 25.
15 yard pass to Musungu but the drive dies at around the 40. Punt down to the 5 but a penalty that could only exist in college - two players in the game wearing the same number - moves the ball out to the 10.
Doesn't matter, as Georgetown kneels out the clock to end the first half.
14-7 Cornell
Big Red flies down the field - with the help of some big runs - and scores on the opening drive. 9 years pass to Musungu.
21-7 with 13:00 left in Q3
Georgetown crosses midfield but on 4th and 5, Cornell comes up with a huge sack and takes over at the Hoya 45.
Sam Musungu takes a screen pass at around the 30, breaks a few tackles and a few ankles on his way to a TD.
28-7.
G'town dropped a gift-wrapped TD in the end zone then failed on another 4th down inside the 10. Cornell takes over again with a little over 10 minutes left in the game.
GBS with a dime to Lee for 47 and Cornell is at the Hoya 35.
Another 15 on a pass to Lee and after a few more plays, GBS runs in another one from the 4.
35-7, 6:41 remaining.
While I'm delighted to have the 35-7 lead, the game has felt closer than that. Georgetown has missed out on several golden opportunities, although we did also drop what seemed like an easy pick-6. But given our tortured football history over the past 30+ years, I shouldn't quibble.

Certainly some really unfortunate conversions allowed on 3d and long or 4th down. At the same time, a pair of clutch 4th down stops in the red zone, a handful of sacks and a nice tip-drill interception also (iirc) in the red zone.
As I type, some awful tackling led to a reception to the Cornell 1, which G'town punched in on the next play to make it 35-14.
On the other hand, the offense has been relentless. Only one bad pass that I recall from GBS and a few really nice ones.
As G'town flubs an onside kick (illegal touch when the ball bounced right up into the kicker), I wonder if a backup will get a drive to take some reps. And the answer is yes. Devon Page in the game.
Not much action for Page as he hands off twice before Cornell switches to victory formation to run out the clock.
35-14 Final.
G'town's best player was RB Clay Ash, who headed to DC after a couple of years as a walk-on at West Virginia.
Ugarte, thanks for the running game diary; I wasn't able to watch or follow the score so this was a recap.
It's hard to enjoy Cornell football with the current headlines.

Understandable, but since none of the men involved are/were football players, I'm able to separate my disgust over the Chi Phi incident with my rooting interest in Cornell football.
