Ithaca High Boy's hit the ice in a newly expanded Section IV - now with 3 teams! Welcome, Corning, to the NYSPHSAA (even the acronym is a mouthful).
Season begins on November 16.

With 3 teams, Ithaca, Broom, and Corning, things get a little more interesting for Section IV. I hope this is a trend for High School ice hockey. The Broom team is composed of players from the Section IV schools that do not have their own Varsity Ice Hockey programs. Ithaca returns as section champions. There are 53 D1 NYSPHSAA Teams competing in 5 sections. Defending State Champions are Suffern HS (Section I) who have won the last 3 Championships.
NYSPHSAA is a mouthful 😅
I'm definitely going to try to catch more games this year - small rinks are delightful and I really enjoyed the playoff games I went to last year. Keep us posted on scheduling!
