Title: Opponents and other news and results 2026-2027

Yale's new coach sounds confident  (https://www.ctinsider.com/college/article/yale-mens-hockey-coach-jeff-hamilton-22261212.php?utm_source=marketing&utm_medium=copy-url-link&utm_campaign=article-share&hash=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuY3RpbnNpZGVyLmNvbS9jb2xsZWdlL2FydGljbGUveWFsZS1tZW5zLWhvY2tleS1jb2FjaC1qZWZmLWhhbWlsdG9uLTIyMjYxMjEyLnBocA%3D%3D&time=MTc3OTI4NzM5Njc2NA%3D%3D&rid=MjA1NWE0OTItYWI4Yy00YzZlLTliY2QtMGMxYmVmY2VlNGI1&sharecount=MA%3D%3D)of ending team's streak of losing seasons.
"This team is going to be good," Hamilton said. "I believe that, and they believe that. It is going to be hard work, and it is going to be a lot of work. It is going to be holding players accountable when it is uncomfortable, but the talent is there. Our staff certainly believes that.
"I don't think it is going to be long. It is going to be a lot of hard work, but Yale hockey will be back on the map soon."

I appreciate that these threads now have a tradition of starting with Yale coaching news.

I appreciate the fact that all the ECAC teams will be finishing with a bye in the first weekend of playoffs.  It will save the league money when all the teams finish in the top 4.  8)

As per Bucci, (https://x.com/Buccigross/status/2057556815676862717?s=20) trapezoid rule will start next year in Div 1 hockey.

Apparently they are also removing the mandated shootout for the women. The ECAC used shootouts only for tiebreaking purposes anyway, so I wonder if it'll go away right away.

I'm struggling to figure out which of these are just "here's an idea" and which are "we're actually doing this". The cut-resistant equipment is a good thing though.

I was pulling for a Buckminsterfullerene rule instead, but this'll do.

With Castro out, they have 3, 4 is a major logjam, especially with the roster limits. No one seems to know where he's heading- portal is closed and he's 23, so no Junior Hockey for him. Washed, I guess.

Twin brothers Liam and Markus Ruck, heading to NoDak this year, were drafted together by the Pens. I miss our twin sets. Looks like Yale has a set on the way, too.

Penn State commit, Alexander Karmanov, who is currently listed at 7'1" tall and 280 lbs. was taken in the 6th round by San Jose. According to this profile from the NYT, his custom stick is 2 inches taller than Jake Kraft:

Can't wait to hear how he's "still growing into his frame."

And now, Jonah
Didn't fool with no itty-bitty fish
He picked him out a whale
And Daniel
Bless his heart, he chose the den
'Stead of the cozy jail
Don't ever conclude you're whipped for sure
Try some more
Tie the score
So what if the odds are lookin' long?
The fight is yours if you sing this song
The bigger they are (the bigger)
The harder they fall (harder)
The tougher they talk (tougher)
The quicker they crawl

He was taken in the 7th - I know because I was watching the draft. (Which tells you what kind of nerd I am.)

But jeez. Now I kinda want to get a picture of Kraft and that behemoth stick.
