What the announcer doesn't tell you is that Lodboa had a natural hat trick (All three goals in a row. No one else scores in between.) in the third period. In the video his first goal was a PP to go from a 3-3 tie to us up 4-3. The second, where the announcer says he seems to like open ice, was a 2 MAN DOWN PK for the game winner 5-3 (Clarkson scored their fourth later). And the final nail was even strength, for a 6-3. The final Clarkson goal with 6:31 remaining made the final score 6-4.

Here's a video with a lot more of the 1970 NCAA final:

I still have vivid memories of Cornell goals 4 and 5.  I was sitting on the red line on the opposite side from the camera in the linked video  Goal 4: on the PP, Lodboa, without the puck, starts charging in from the left point. McCutcheon in the opposite corner hits Boa with a perfect pass and Boa slams it home.  Goal 5:  Garth Ryan, the lone forward as we are down 2 men, poke checks the puck loose.  Lodboa seems to be shot out of a cannon, somehow comes from D, picks up the puck and scores on a breakaway.
