It's fucking raining out here. Thanks Al for the umbrella shout.
Big game, very important. Get 'er done.
And if anyone's here, I'm down to say hi :)
Rain does wonky things to throws. Let's hope we keep things under control.
I hope we avoid cradling into double teams today. That's often a turnover.
Harvard wins the opening faceoff and scores first.
Apparently I'm sitting in Crimson territory. This is gonna be fun.
Jfc they celebrate every goal like they won the Cup.
0-2, we look sloppy.
1-3. Firth got one.
I think I might just be awful luck for lacrosse.
Harvard plays good offense. We'll need more discipline on D to get this done.
Too much adrenaline? Really sloppy play.

Wet sticks.
Is the goalie even allowed to run that far into the o-zone?
3 offsides in one quarter. Can't blame that on the rain.
Quote from: stereax on April 25, 2026, 12:27:47 PMIs the goalie even allowed to run that far into the o-zone?
Yes, as long as enough guys stay back.
Three offsides in the first quarter. Just one goal.

Yeah, team seemed completely out of sync today.
1-4.
This sucks.
Every time we get the puck we turn it over instantly.
Harvard is playing good defense. We'll need to keep the potato hot.
Two quick ones cut the deficit to 1!
TIE GAME
FOUR STRAIGHT. WE LEAD.
Who is 47 on Harvard? I can't find him on the roster.
We need to avoid doubles with the ball.
I am saying this for the first time in my life: go Duke!
"Spicy Wing Eating Competition" during intermission.
Who greenlighted this?
Brown leading Yale 8-6 at halftime if live stats are accurate

I should but can't.

Based on the live stats it is Jackson Henehan
shows as #14 on the roster/team website
Tully switched to shorts.
6-4!
Great Cornell D.

Correction, apparently that's not allowed???

Cornell challenged the call. They thought the ball went in, apparently.
Edit: Announcers say it was an official review: Not a challenge.
The score might be 6-5

They made it sound like goal 6 was being challenged. Not a hypothetical 7.
Terrifying sequence, but we get a powerplay from it.
Firth was a box player. He didn't start playing field lacrosse until he was a senior in high school.
7-5, then 7-6.
On the fast break, three guys went for the ball and left the shooter wide open.
7-7, 7-8.
Ping and in. Tied at 8.
93 down bad. Oof. Hopping off.
Firth pots it! 9-8!
Christian de Guzman should always do the soccer GGGGOOOOOAAALLLL.
Tied at 9.
Hey Stereax, would you post a picture of the stands on the west side?
Goldstein! 10-9!

I was curious to see if the west side looked like the old days with the aluminum stands.
Haven't been able to escape yet - my feet are in so much pain. So watching the seniors.
Eddie Rayhill is among them, so Jimmy was around to do the little senior family walk.
I thought that the D really came together after the 1st quarter. Only 5 goals given up after that.
Great win today. I don't love Cornell having to play these guys again in less than a week but I think Cornell locked up a NCAA bid today--the ILT will be all about improving seeding (and of course, a tournament championship, on top of a regular season championship in this league this year would be a huge accomplishment.)
That ought to lock it up. Based on todays scores, with UNC and Cuse losing, should be 4 in the poll. 6? in the rpi

who better? gotta play someone. may as well be a team that has to take a round trip by bus.
So win or lose on Friday, we're still going to be dancing?

Yes

Freezing and raining sideways in Ithaca. Rain boots on the ground. Advantage Red
Sean Donaldson (Hockey '26), after the game: (https://x.com/i/status/2048141439691829452)
The rain did not stop us. I'll leave it at that
Suffice it to say, eyes were on the lacrosse team today :)

We looked like the better team all day. It will be a really good game, but I expect it will look the same on Friday.

Shows how long it has been since I saw a game live in Ithaca — there were bleachers the whole length of the press box. I knew they came out but I didn't realize there was any seating on that side. Who has access to the mini-bleachers?

I think that's the "field level seating".

I miss the west stands, I would occasionally watch lacrosse games from the there. At that time the teams were on the west sidelines and you could hear coaches and players quite clearly.
Saw the only National Championship game ever played in Schoelkopf, 1980 ('81?) Hopkins beat Virginia in OT.
Best thing about the west stands were those evening game on occasion where you didnt have to stare into the setting sun all game.

I have fond memories of sitting in those stands and hearing the Star Spangled Banner played on a violin.
