they can have more than one person come to campus. some of the people who come to speak - even to teach - have no connection to cornell at all!

Yeah but it seemed like they had him come to campus
because he was a Cornell football player who went to the NFL, to talk about his experiences. But he dipped midway through so it's kind of a weird message.

obviously they did... and no it isn't! there didn't have to be any ill-will in the departure. things happen. he obviously still has good memories of the place and he didn't burn any bridges.
