Among other irritations from the P.U. at PU, we are denied a red year (http://www.tbrw.info/?/weekly_Updates/cornell_Warmth_ECAC.html).

This season's pattern is identical to 1975.  A season where we Chose Poorly (http://www.tbrw.info/reports/rptCornell_Games_by_Year/rptCornell_Games_1975.pdf) at the Gahden.

But I can learn to like the number 9. Just give it to me, please.

And to compare to 1975, back then it always seemed like we were underachieving. I don't have that feeling now.

Without having seen the message, maybe a major traffic delay but very hard to believe unless they left Hamden close to midnight.

As per the email (which, I was gonna mention the Big Red Travelogue Part Two but didn't want to catch the heat from Coach again) they got stuck on a bridge on their way "out of the city". (Not sure which - did they travel through NYC? Wouldn't it be easier to go west?)

Coming from Connecticut they had to cross the Hudson so must have been the George Washington Bridge since they said they were leaving the city.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, but Gorski received semi-regular shifts last weekend and actually had more TOI on Saturday than O'Brien. Not sure if injury-related.

If you trust CHN's xG numbers, they don't tell a great story for Cornell. Four straight games where we've either been tied or behind our opponents (mostly tied). Five games ago, we badly outchanced Colgate but lost in OT. Lately our games have been largely decided by crazy bounces in one direction or the other. We aren't carrying play and we're leaving the outcomes to chance.

Didn't Gorski look really good in his minutes Friday? Perhaps why they gave him more Saturday.

Princeton will clinch #4 if all the scores hold.  Maybe that wasn't so embarr-- no, it still was.

Syer should be in serious contention for coach of the year if they do get a BYE. It's between him and Cashman I think but I don't think too many expected Princeton to finish where they have in the standings

SLU players are amping up the head contact in the post-whistle scrums and Casey is peeved that The refs have decided to put away the whistles.

Pecknold did his usual thing where he pulls the goalie much sooner than any other coach, but it wasn't crazy since Q was going on the PP down by 1 with around 5 minutes left. Dartmouth scored an ENG quickly and then I presume their seventh goal was also an ENG but I had turned off the game by that point

To be fair to Pecknold, you should statistically pull the goalie much sooner than most coaches usually do.

That felt a lot like an NHL team coming home after a long road trip playing an uninspired first game back home.  It looked like Brekke went to school on the Colgate tapes because Saint Lawrence was taking every opportunity to be chippy after whistles.  This time it didn't last long enough for Cornell to become undisciplined like they were that weekend.  Is delay of game even a defined outcome for a post whistle scrum? Didn't understand why that wasn't just two roughing calls?

I didn't really like that Cornell didn't get going until after they gave up the first goal.  I was hoping for less playing down to the opponent as we sit here on the eve of the postseason.  They had only a couple of first period shifts where they were able to establish a cycle.  Other than that five minute blitz in the second where pucks started to go in they were not getting anything to work through forty minutes.  Missing the net on some of their best scoring chances and Saint Lawrence forming a wall in front of Smith played into that.

Desantis sure needed a big game.  Glad he got one for going to the net.  That's been a major part of Cornell's offense this season.

Same goes for Walsh. This season he's gone missing for long stretches of games.  The points are still there but they need him to be more like last season and be a finisher more than a playmaker.  That breakaway goal hopefully is a start.

The past few weeks have definitely put a dent in my psyche outside of the blip against Quinnipiac.  They still have plenty of runway so I hope there is a switch that Casey is waiting to flip when it's go time in two weeks.
