Title: Dryden ceremony
Post by: upprdeck on November 15, 2025, 09:43:05 AM
I can't believe they sent out a notice to puff up a ceremony honoring a hockey great and it was just a few random still photos and a short Aurthur voice over?  he played 50 yrs ago. How many in the crowd actually saw him play?  Maybe show his stats on the board since sound is hard to understand anyway. A nice video clip. Or showing a shot of his famous pose standing with his stick  that made it easy to see?  Did they not have any good color pictures
from the dark ages?

The ages back then were not all that dark.  However, all my photos of Dryden from that era are in black & white. It does sound that CU could have done a better job Friday night which we missed. Began watching Cornell hockey while at Ithaca High School in 1966. What a great time to begin!

Very nice piece today by 1968 BC alum Bob Ryan in the Boston Globe on Dryden and Princeton basketball great Bill Bradley.  Refers to the 2009 symposium at Cornell that Jeremy Schaap hosted with the two of them.  Behind a paywall, unfortunately, but I was able to read it in print.
