Here's the video of Malott's scrap:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4BkSlHhDO8

He held his own against Manson, who's a pretty tough customer. There are some Colorado fans (looks like maybe a few players too) who are a little heated about Jeff flying in with an "early" punch, but Manson did already have his gloves off. Glad to see Jeff becoming a favorite with the LA crowd too!

Heated because he grabbed Manson's shoulder pad on the way down.

I'm looking for Barron's scoring to increase this year. His role on the team seems solid and secure and maybe some of the skill will now show.

From prohockeyrumors

One of the breakout players of this early portion of the 2025-26 Winnipeg Jets season, Morgan Barron, will be out day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, according to The Athletic's Murat Ates. Barron, as mentioned, has been one of the Jets' more productive players so far this season. The hefty 6'4″ forward has scored three goals and five points in six games, which already puts him one-third of the way to his scoring total from 2024-25, one he managed across 74 games. With Barron injured, Parker Ford is likely to draw into the lineup in Barron's vacated fourth-line role.

From the guy who brought us returning to a game after receiving 75 stitches, Barron didn't miss any games after his day to day status.

Jillian Saulnier, Boston
Marlene Boissonnault, Minnesota
Kristin O'Neill, New York
Jamie Bourbonnais, New York
Micah Zandee-Hart, New York
Brianne Jenner, Ottawa
Rory Guilday, Ottawa
Lily Delianedis, Seattle
Izzy Daniel, Vancouver
Katie Chan, Vancouver (she is signed with a pro team in Sweden but is taking part in camp)

Not sure where else to put it since we don't have an "Alumni Children in the Pros", but I'm watching the Canes-Golden Knights replay and Cornell got a mention.  It seems Mark Jankowski, who currently plays for Carolina, is the son of Len Jankowski who played for the Big Red when I was a student.  Who knew?

Even better the announcers referred to Cornell as a "really good hockey program".

That's saying something because if it was the Canes broadcast it was possibly Tripp Tracy who said it

Alas, too much precedent with the Giants and the Jets.

Still, I suppose it's better than where New York's NWHL team the Riveters first played, at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn - oddly, it's faster and easier to get from downtown Brooklyn to Newark than to the Rockaway/ass end of Brooklyn. I wanted to go see Jenny Scrivens play way back in the day, but could never manage to set aside enough time, and then they moved to the Meadowlands.

They simulcast the NHL Network pre game show on NHL Network Radio.  When I was listening last evening they had a Jets analyst on.  He called Morgan Barron "a stallion" for his performance in moving up their lineup this season in the absence of Lowry and Perfetti.

I really wish the Sirens actually played in New York, not in Newark.

And I wish they'd stayed in Bridgeport.

On PWHL locations, there is some drama in Ottawa as the city is planning a new arena that would reduce seating to about 5k from 8.5k for the PWHL Charge (and 67s of the OHL). The league has signaled that they would consider moving the team if that happens. They averaged about 6500/game last year.

On the other hand, hockey has the Devils.  But then there are already two other "New York" teams (one of which plays in Nassau County, which I guess is also New York City according to the International Cricket Council).

Jill Saulnier was the Boston player involved in a sorta-viral PWHL moment (https://x.com/JocksInJills/status/1992686776536723781?s=20) from the weekend in which Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey (married Montreal teammates) both got sent to the box.
