Just found myself watching the highlights from the UToronto exhibition and realized I could be doing better. What old games/highlight reels would you guys recommend?
My go to is the Clarkson game from 2020.

There's also this great video with every goal from the 2019-2020 season.

ECAC final 2003
Harvard at Lynah 2017-18
Harvard at Lynah 2014-15
NCAA vs BC 2003
NCAA vs Michigan 2012
NCAA vs Northeastern 2009
NCAA vs OSU 2005
Game 3 of ECAC second round 2019 vs Union
Game 3 of ECAC second round 2011 vs Quinnipiac
Game 3 of ECAC second round 2014 vs Clarkson
Pretty much the whole 2019-20 season but these are too painful for me to watch
Most or all of these should have highlights on YouTube
I don't know if there are highlights for these, but my choices would be:
ECAC quarterfinal against Providence - March '79
ECAC tournament (both games) - March '80
NCAA quarterfinal against Wisconsin - March '2006
And there are definitely highlights of:
ECAC Tournament (both games) - March '24
2003 ECAC Championship vs Harvard
2003 NCAA Quarterfinal vs BC
2005 NCAA First round vs OSU (I'm responsible for one highlight video on YT actually)
Not sure how good the highlights are, but the 1996 and 1997 ECAC championship games were pretty memorable.
There were some classic regular season games Schafer's early years that weren't televised, so I guess re-reading the HOCKEY-L archives might not be so exciting.
IINM both the Denver F (1969) and Wisconsin SF (1973) crushing NC$$ losses are available on You Tube, in addition to the 2006 triple overtime QF loss to Wisconsin.
Or you could watch a triple feature of them and feel like hanging yourself after.
1970 NCAA final vs. Clarkson highlights are there. Would like 1970 ECAC final.
Also, would like 1966 ECAC quarter and semi to see the Ferguson twins at their best.
I just find myself going back in my head to watch Major, refeed, shot, score! Sullivan Mack, ugh, biggest goal of his life! Last year against Maine, two goals to lead Cornell to the upset victory, he may have done it again!
Sorry. Uh. But fr I think that one was an insane game, as was the Q game this year. Or you can just watch the regular season closer and watch us pants a team six-nothing.
Btw, where do you find replays of those games? ESPN took em down :( learning my lesson to try to download every game next year.

If Cornell has those tucked away I wish they would restore, remaster, and let them out.
I suspect except for a few freaky and lucky bounces it's all lost. After all, BBC burned most of old Dr. Who. Nobody thinks to save shit until it's too late. That's why we have footage from 100,000 Billy Joel performances since 1974 but almost nothing from before when he didn't suck yet.

I've found very sparse clips from the 1970 NCAA final on Youtube. I believe there was a longer highlight package on Vimeo, but haven't come across that for awhile.

I'm re-reading Connie Willis's
To Say Nothing of the Dog, and there's a bit of exposition about how the first two things people tried to do when time travel was invented were steal stuff and kill Hitler, but the universe has built-in mechanisms that prevent you from doing that sort of thing. (The time machine either transports you to a different time and place than you were aiming for, or just doesn't work.) But it's great for historians to go back and observe things.

There was a Doctor Who episode called "Let's Kill Hitler". They didn't.
