Leivermann off to Clarkson (https://www.uscho.com/2025/06/11/great-fit-leivermann-leaves-assistants-role-at-cornell-takes-similar-job-with-clarkson-mens-hockey-team/)

Lots of reasons for this. Its a good deal for him to go.
Best of luck to him. A new broom sweeps clean.
Less than 10 months in Ithaca. Has to be among the shortest coaching tenures for the team. Wonder if he chose to left or if was asked to choose to leave...
Given how short his time was in Ithaca, I can't imagine there are many recruits he is responsible for, but I could be wrong.

Pretty sure this is not what happened. He was watching games from the press box at Cornel. Just a young coach who wants to rise through the ranks.

Weren't our first 2 recruits after he was hired from Minnesota (Peckham and Ament)? It'll be interesting to see what they do.
When Leivermann was hired (or at least when his hiring was announced) in August 2024, Casey was already known for several months to be the coach in waiting. It was likely Casey himself who wanted Leivermann. The prior assistant in Leivermann's position was Ben Russell, who was Cornell assistant coach for one year and director of hockey ops for two before he left for Northern Michigan. With five members of college coaching staffs now (head coach, associate, two assistants, hockey ops), the lower positions on the totem pole are quite transient. I would not read much into this departure beyond "young coach seeks bigger and higher paying role." There wasn't much room for growth at Cornell with three seasoned coaches ahead of Leivermann on the depth chart.
People are over thinking this.

Why not explain your perspective then?
I think he was a Casey guy until he saw daylight, and both of those things are good and appropriate. Also a good chance Casey has told him this isn't just a short say 3-4 year gig.
