I'm creating a new thread because it's easier to scroll to the posts.
Albany is falling asleep and not guarding the attack on the front doorstep.
Cornell 2-0
4 possessions. 4 goals.
Cornell 4-0
losing Dalton on the backside crease for the 1st goal I can see. so many other scoring options whose jersey number might be a higher priority
but for the same set to work on the next possession with Kirst being unguarded is just real bad defense
Firth on the doorstep on the EMO. Very patiently stick faked and froze the goalie, then calmly stuck it on the far side. He's a real talent.
7-1 Cornell at the end of the first.
When they are 6 on 6, the Cornell offense moves the ball like it's an EMO.
The one goal for Albany was a weak side cutter. We've been a little bit susceptible to that this year.
everybody getting to contribute
Dalton, Luzzi, Bozzi all with goals in addition to the more common names
Albany is playing zone. They will live with the outside shots from Cornell.
Another weak side cutter and goal from Albany.
8-2 Good guys.
Kirst snookered one into the side pocket.
10-3 Cornell.
Albany cutter with some French pastry, as Barry would say. Nice shot.
10-4
12-4 Good guys at the half.
Maybe the 1-3-2 zone defense slowed down Cornell a little bit. The X Goldstein coming around the corner puts real pressure on the defense and leads to come good looks. Cornell also used the skip pass effectively against the zone.
4 individual effort goals by Albany beating the Cornell defense.
13-7 Cornell.
15-8 Cornell, end of the 3rd.
Tough game for Knust today, only 3 saves.
Waldman again showing range on the step down rocket from WAY out
18-11 Cornell. Pretty dominant for the most part. Albany scored with good individual dodges and shots. Cornell's third line and other players had a chance to get some game time.
Hey Mike, re thread title, today is not Saturday! ::doh::
Albany gifted Cornell with a completely ineffective zone D for the first 7 or so goals ...

Probably was too excited about the start of the game to think clearly.
Albany 3-8 1 3 4 3 — 11
Cornell 8-1 7 5 3 3 — 18
Cornell 12-4 at the half suggests it's over so some slackening of output is understandable. OK, Albany can argue won the second half 7-6 and we can just say, "Scoreboard!"
Nice to see 10 players score (balanced) including 6-0--6 for CJ Kirst and 1-5--6 for Michael Long.
Fabulous idea, Cornell: midweek game, walk over to Lower Alumni Field after class, watch a great game, back at the frat or dorms for dinner. Except: This is spring break week, 40 game temp, 386 attendees is not bad considering.
