Mike and Rand may or may not like each other, but it sure feels like a Kendrick-Drake thing, and Mike's record at Lake Placid keeps destroying Rand's.
This post by dbilmes inspired me to think about it more:
Quote from: dbilmesThis article from earlier this week from the Quinnipiac Chronicle makes for a fun read tonight!
Because the fact is, despite all the success, despite a national championship and countless NCAA Tournament wins — Pecknold hasn't been able to conquer Lake Placid, New York. At least not for the last nine years.
The last time Quinnipiac came away with the Whitelaw Cup was in 2016, and since then they've fallen short each time.
It's remarkable, the failure of Quinnipiac in the league tournament. Since 2013:
12 seasons
9 times the #1 seed
10 appearances in the ECAC final four
7 semifinal losses
2 final losses
1 little championship
3-7 in the SEMIS. Most of these years, they've been a top NCAA team. But they can't get it done in Lake Placid.
They're the 1990s Atlanta Braves in Lake Placid. It sucks they won that one.
But I'm ecstatic, tickled after today. Extreme Schadenfreude. Everyone needs a villain, and Rand is mine. Fuck his little beady veiny whiny head. Fuck his Eddie Bauer popped collar half-zip with a goddamn pocket square. Fuck his exploitation of the transfer portal. Many wanted to avoid Quinnipiac, but we're set up to play them even. The other three times we saw them, we played them even.
Fuck Rand. Enjoy your early bus ride.

All I can say is: +1
In the words of our coach (weird grammar excused):
Quote from: SchaferI guess my first comment is I want to make it loud and clear that what their coach did...was a fucking classless asshole.

Was that said today, or is that a historical quote?
They not like us!

Thanks to sah67 on the other thread:
Quote from: sah67Peckerhead continued his hissy fit into the postgame presser (from the Sun recap):
" Pecknold made an eye-opening comment about the officiating in the postgame press conference.
"I just want to get clarity right out of the gate — I'm not going to take any questions, for NCAA rules, on the officiating tonight. Any questions on that you can ask [ECAC commissioner] Doug Christiansen," Pecknold said.

I forgot that he accused Bardreau of embellishing there.
Man he sucks. So glad we won.
Here's a relatively minor dig at Pecknold from Schafer in the weekend recap he sent out this morning to whomever gets those. Talking about the short-handed goal:
"I couldn't believe they had four forwards on the ice because their coach had to know we would pull the goalie."

I'm thinking Mike was talking about Kovich's SHG. There was no ENG in the Q game.

My mistake. I meant short-handed goal, of course. I'll edit my post, but also leave this post as is.

Right after the penalty was called, the play-by-play guy noted that Quinnipiac had allowed an appalling six short-handers this season, although only one since the new year. Of course, then he said "they've really cleaned that up, and in a situation like this I don't think think they're taking too many risks at all."

And another one... :)
