Title: Preferential treatment for athletes
Post by: dbilmes on February 20, 2025, 10:25:40 AM
Good reporting (https://yaledailynews.com/blog/2025/02/07/yale-healths-vip-fast-pass-a-varsity-letter/) by Yale Daily News on how athletes at Yale get access to much better and timely medical treatment then non-athletes. I would expect it's similar to what happens at other Ivy schools.

Why wouldnt you expect that?

They are on athletic "scholie", so you would hope they are trying to keep the kids healthy.

of course i expect it but that's a function of low expectations. what do you get out of a cynical reaction to someone pointing out inequitable treatment? it's one thing if athletes are being treated for sports-related injuries but why should a fencer get concierge service for the flu?
