Hula Bowl. No Hulu in Ed's day.
Quote from: Al DeFlorioHula Bowl. No Hulu in Ed's day.
I was watching the Hulu channel, opps, yes Hula Bowl.
I was ready to believe Hulu Bowl as much as Hula Bowl.
In years past we've had:
Beef O'Brady Bowl
Refrigerator Bowl
Avocados From Mexico Cure Bowl
Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl
Pop-Tarts Bowl formerly Cheez-It Bowl
Poulan Weed-Eater Independence Bowl
Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl
Guaranteed Rate Bowl
68 Ventures Bowl formerly the LendingTree Bowl, Dollar General Bowl, GoDaddy Bowl, GMAC Bowl, and originally Mobile Alabama Bowl.
Once you get past the top ten bowls, they are probably money losers for the colleges invited. The school may have to buy 5,000 tickets and swallow the cost of any that aren't sold. Especially if it's a warm weather site, more athletic department hangers-on want to go, ditto some faculty, the president and his entourage, and then alumni affairs wants to hold some bond-with-alumni events, and then the development people thing they need to be there also. Plus the band and the full cheerleader contingent. And then more photographers, videographers, producers and social media people. The coach and maybe the offensive and defensive coordinators may have a contract clause with a bonus for going to a bowl game. Ka-ching.
