Does that mean that single season tickets will not be on sale on Oct 15?

If we forget everything that happened before this with the ticket line and subsequent Official Indifference, this is a good thing for the department to do.  Anything that encourages people to go to the games of other Cornell teams is a plus, and raffling off hockey tickets is a great incentive.

BRA said exactly what I was going to say.  This gives people a chance to get these tickets, and it will get students to a lot of other sporting events.

Of course, this is also a good way for the Athletics department to make a few more dollars off their cash cow.  :-(

Do the math.

Do they charge for field hockey, men's soccer, and women's basketball?  I don't think they did when I was there.  My last few years I don't think that they directly charged students for anything but hockey (though it was included as an activity fee that everyone had to pay); you just needed to show up with ID.

I've never been to those three, but I've gone to football, lacrosse, and walked in on men's basketball between periods at Lynah... never had to do anything but show my ID, if that. If they don't charge for football, they aren't charging for field hockey.

Then things have changed since I was on the hill, and I may have spoken out of turn.

When I were a lad...they charged for football, men's soccer, men's B-ball, and men's lax, as well as for men's hockey.

jeff, all of those sports were pid admission for students until the Student Assembly decided to fund student admission to athletics.  From that point on everything was free for students except mens' hockey, which only got a 25% discount.   (I suppose the details may have changed in the 5 years I've been away from campus).  I think this happened in Fall of '94 or possibly '95.

Grad students didn't get the same "deal" until a year or two later after some lobbying of the GPSA by myself and a couple others.  Fortunately I on the assembly so I had a vote...
