Fasc still fascing on WHCU. Not sure if we're getting the pre-game, but it's early days.
Jason has now superseded the derp.
Devlin, Wallace and Fegaras injuries all sound pretty serious, with all missing around 10 games.
Mack with a PPG and then Penney (i think) scored on a delayed penalty (but before any 6th man could have an impact).
That wasn't first date behavior...
Arthur with a gem: "The result of that challenge was that nothing happened."
Keopple in net for the second period, no surprise there.
Walsh got one while I was having dinner, but a couple of minutes into the second period, with Cornell sitting on 3 minutes of a major PP, Castagna goes hard to the net and backhands one home. 4-0. And now 5x3 for 2 minutes!
The Castagna goal was pure power.
Katz in goal for the third period.
He hasn't gotten much ice time but it's fun to see a big, bruising body with "Murray" on the nameplate out there again.
Can't remember the last time (if ever) I've seen a goalie given a game misconduct.
8:14 to go and Toronto's goalie got ejected for tackling Donaldson.

Leeor Shtrom (sp?)
I have seen it because of full line brawls where the goalies joined the fun and fought each other, in the WHL. Never like this.

The major was announced as being for "kicking."

When you are wearing knives on your feet, isn't that attempted murder?

Sure, though that was after the body-slam. Probably went from a minor to a major/game misconduct.
Yikes. Kempf with a giveaway right in front of Katz who makes the stop.
Direct Yogi-esque quote: "You always talk about the defensemen who you never mention their names."
LOL Castagna's just too good.

What a pretty turn and snipe. I look forward to seeing what he can do against a defense.
BAH Katz hung out to dry on a 2 on 1 and gives up a shorty. 6-2 Red. Castagna almost made it 7-2 on another incredible move.
That last Castagna rush was very Nieuwy.
Edit: Elite Prospects has Castagna and Nieuwendyk at exactly 6-2 203, left handed-shooting Centers.
Noticed UT had a #5 Dirven, and it looks like it's Sebastian's younger brother.
Maybe the cameras are just better, but the Lynah lighting looks significantly brighter.

He is. Jason mentioned they look nearly like twins.
A real shame Rayhill couldn't convert on that power play chance in the second: it looked like almost the entire bench was commiserating with him after that.

It was funny how obvious it was that they were trying to get him a goal. Not often do you see a 5 foot 9 d man on the crease for a 5 on 3 PP. Hopefully he gets the call again on senior night and buries one then.
Fun little nugget from the game notes: Cornell has now gone 25-0-2 in its last 27 exhibition games. The Big Red's last EX loss was back in 2009, and the opposing goaltender was... Andy Iles (US Under-18 team)

Sebastian was in the crowd
I saw a lot of empty seats despite the "sold out"
status
While we won the battle it didn't seem to have the usual excitement. Maybe it's due to it being an exhibition game ?
I think the guys will be having hard practices this week as there's definitely some work to do before next weekend
Just my opinion

It was a great crowd for an exhibition game and I think a lot of people with tickets just didn't go/showed up late/left early because it was an exhibition. Agreed that if we play like we did in both exhibition games next weekend we're getting swept by nodak but I trust that we can turn it on.
Speaking of nodak, does anyone know if the Tower Road parking lot near Weill Hall will be available next weekend, or has construction for the field house begun?

it's still open as of now and I haven't seen any construction started to I'm sure it will be available.

that night, he was the answer
I can't believe there's still a few hundred seats left for Friday and Saturday both.
