Title: Cornell Football Recruits '28
Post by: big29red on June 29, 2024, 12:50:38 PM
Has anyone seen or heard about a list of the new Cornell Football recruits for the upcoming season? I was hoping that with a new coach/staff, we would get a bit more news and transparency as to what is going on with the program. The  other Ivy's have all announced their incoming classes. We used to get a list /announcement in May, then it moved to June, now crickets from Cornell. I'm not really expecting much, especially with the coaching change, lack of facilities and the negative recruiting the other Ivy programs have used against Cornell for as long as Archer was around. Nonetheless, it would be nice to hear about the incoming class.

I have a list of about 25 I will post up soon.  The recruiting for next year is off to a good start, and I'll post those committed to date as well.

Great- Thanks, I just wonder why Cornell has not publicly announced the class yet? Encouraging that Coach Swanstrom is off to a good start on next year's class. The recruiting needs to be paramount in order to get back to a championship team.

I think they are waiting on 1 or 2 undecided before announcing,

Thanks! Seems like a good group, huge O-Line guys as usual; hopefully they can block and move people off the ball! Kicker may be a great pickup!

Thanks for the post and welcome to those players coming to Cornell.   However, my primary concern is there are no running backs on the list.   I get it with modern offenses but watching some of the best teams in the Ivy League like Harvard and Yale especially, they always have a good running game.   Cornell is kind of like Dartmouth as more of an outlier in terms of travel distance, but Buddy Teevens success at Dartmouth was always a strong running game.  The last time Cornell had a winning season was 2005 and both the QB and RB ran for a thousand yards.   In Ithaca NY where the weather can go from sunshine to sleet, you can't always pass in that situation.

My miss...............Ricardo Lagares is an Upstate NY running back and a big tough runner.   Wishing Ricardo much success on the East Hill.   Thank you Coach Swanstrom!
