Title: iCal/Mozilla Calendar updated
Post by: CowbellGuy on September 25, 2003, 02:41:08 PM
I wrote a script to automatically generate the calendar file from the database, so it stays current, has extra info, and generally keeps things up to date. The old calendar is no more, so you'll have to remove that one and resubscribe. There are complete instructions at eLynah.com under "Calendar" in the menubar.

Cool, but is there a way to download this file so I can import it to my Palm desktop?  I think I was able to do so last season.

Didn't think Palm Desktop could read ics format. But I should be able to make a version it can handle. Just a moment...

Err, well, the problem with that is it won't be able to update as games are played. I could make a regular schedule though.

OK. I made a vcal version as well. There's a link at the same location. The problem with Palm Desktop is you can't subscribe to it. You'll have to delete all the games and re-import a current version if you want it updated down the road.

Perfect, Age.  Thanks.  I'm not looking for any updating calendar, so that one file works for me (of course, I could've written in the schedule myself, but I'm lazy, and maybe someone else could benefit).

One thing that I had to do was to change the extention on the file from .vcal to .vcs, and it worked fine with my Palm Desktop import function.  Others may or may not, depending on your OS or PIM.

OK. Palm Desktop for Mac used a .vcal extension. Didn't have it on any PC to test, but that's easy enough to change. Thanks for the info.
