Title: Cornell construction - non-athletic
Post by: David Harding on May 21, 2024, 10:12:05 PM
Here's the seasonal survey from The Ithaca Voice (https://ithacavoice.org/2024/05/gallery-see-whats-being-built-at-cornell-this-spring/) of current Cornell construction projects.

There was a longer story on Duffield/Phillips Hall (https://ithacavoice.org/2024/05/cornell-plans-latest-addition-to-engineering-college/) from yesterday.
QuoteWhen completed, the entire complex would be called Duffield Hall, and Phillips Hall would cease to exist as a distinct entity.

Friends who lived in Balch are still annoyed the dorms are being changed from two singles with a connecting sink area to doubles. And now work is behind schedule so half the building will not reopen until 2025.

A Cornell Sun story fall 2021, just before work began, said, "Once known for its multitude of roomy singles, 80 percent of new rooms will be doubles." https://cornellsun.com/2021/10/29/a-brand-new-balch-university-to-renovate-historic-womens-dorm/  Cornell at the time estimated work would take 18-24 months.

Does that mean no more "man in bathroom" signs?

Person in bathroom is more inclusive.
