So far, Cornell is going a much better job keeping Princeton from taking shots topside.
The Princeton defense showed up also. They swarm and play tough.
Psylos needs help when he picks it up
Wrap from X, invert, no help.
Princeton 2-1
6:28
Kirst to Nikolic from X, side right.

13:04 2nd
Kelleher again! Step down top right.
7-2
11:45 2nd
Carcaterra is right. The Princeton D is sinking in, so CJ might not have his best day. But the middies will have open shots.
All7 by middies
Tully out of the goal at the end line fighting for the ball!
X Goldstein to Sheehan on the doorstep, Cornell.

Quote from: Al DeFlorioUnnecessary slide on 4th goal
Yep.
Mackesy shoots through the defender.
8-5
2:40 2nd
Turnovers killed 8-2 momentum. Let P back in. P had been tentative on offense.
We're losing too many faceoffs.
And we're letting guys shoot topside again.
Princeton goal.
8-6
1:53
Individual dodge. Princeton goal side right.
8-7
1:09
7 straight for C...6 straight for P
Diving goal from X.
Tied
End of quarter.
We played such great defense for a quarter and change. And then we let down.
Not being able to win a draw and not being able to play team defense is a bad combination.
Let's see some halftime adjustments and win this game.
Need faceoffs and Goldstein playmaking in 2nd half.

Also individual defense. A lot of those Princeton goals are unassisted. They torched our shorties few times there.
Dodge alley right. Goal Princeton. The slide is late.

Faceoff win, goes to goal.

Nice job by Psyllos the last few faceoffs. He's fighting out there.
Shot clock violation Princeton.
Excellent defense by Cornell.
CJ is trying to do too much in the final seconds of the 3rd. They are locking him down.
All tied.
End of 3.
Top left. Princeton.
13-12
12:57 4th
Princeton was constantly setting ball picks topside to get free hands on the middies. Cornell did a great job with it until the final seconds of the shot clock. They can't let up.
Princeton shot down the right alley. Good shot.
14-12
8:35 4th
Goldstein checks the Princeton long pole at the midline, it pops to Walker Wallace, who passes to a wide open Long in front of the goal, who drains it.
14-13
8:12 4th
Goldstein was sooooo open on that fast break. But no pass.
R Goldstein from behind the net!
Tied, friends.
5:20 4th
Per announcers, it has been verified that Goldstein has feet.
Good game.
So was this kid the #1 prospect in the nation or something?
Princeton will put a long pole on Goldstein and slow him down a little. CJ should have some room to operate. 2:09 left in the game. Cornell ball out of the timeout.
CJ tried to do too much. The shot wasn't there.
HOLY SH-T!!!
I can't believe it.
Cornell fast break with long stick Matt Dooley!
15-14 Cornell.
1.7 seconds left.
That is why I love lacrosse. What a game. 20th anniversary of Boiardi's death
A big win for a lot of reasons.
#21
Really talented attack line with Goldstein now.
Last second Pole Goal for a Win was phenomenal! but I am glad to get off that roller coaster ride of a game.
Lots of stuff to clean up but, An Ivy League win v Princeton is an awesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon

Especially to win on the road at Princeton.
Thought the Prnceton Defensemen did a great job on Kirst so great win with other individuals stepping up. Goldstein is eye opener and credit Jordan Stevens too.
great to go up 6.
bad to go down 4
then played well to tie it up. But also threw away 7-8 chances to get a good lead
then back down 2
then tied again
When the D gets lost it gets really lost
We don't lose many lacrosse games when during the game we score seven unanswered.
I don't know of any games we allowed 10 unanswered goals and had a whiff of winning. Until today.
Jeez, the Princeton crew at 1.8 left on the scoreboard, they looked like orphans who missed the party boat. Hey, there's always Wall Street to make you feel better, lads.
Lets hope the 2 kids who got in today and scored can grow off of that.

If Goldstein is half of his Dad, he will be great

Suspect Buczek's been making novenas for weeks hoping to heal Goldstein's finger.

Highlights. I see Gilmartin was beat over the top on Princeton goal #6. He has to use his body to force the player north and south. Something to work on.
Unbelievable matchup yesterday and our defense stepped up winning the game. Congrats to the team and coaches for coming back after a tough loss to Penn State. Come out to Schoellkopf Field this coming Saturday. Go Big Red!
