Title: World Chess Championship 2023

I have to admit, I followed this one less closely, only noting the results after the fact, and not looking much at the games (or following them live as I did for a few in 2021).  I have some distaste for deciding the match with tie-breakers using shorter time control, although I suppose rapid chess is sort of like overtime.  If they ever get to the blitz tiebreakers, it will be the equivalent of deciding the title with a shootout.  The purist in me says that if the match is tied, the champion should just retain the crown, although in this case it would have been a problem, since the title was vacated.
