Title: The Slytherin Faithful
Post by: Tom Hamill \'85 on July 01, 2003, 09:11:14 PM
Anyone else notice that J. K. Rowling is channeling the Lynah Faithful in the latest Harry Potter installment?   I love it...the Slytherin fans sing a song for the new Griffindor Quiddich Keeper,

Weasley cannot save a thing
He cannot block a single ring
That's why Slytherins all sing
Weasley is our King.

Weasley was born in a bin
He always lets the Quaffle in.
Weasley will make sure we win,
Weasley is our king.

He let the puck go by....three times!   :-D

Sorry, force of habit.

That is even good enough to pay tribute to by adding it to the Lynah oeuvre.  Do you think that you can get Grumet-Morris into the cadence?

Also, is this a Rowling original or a well-known English football taunt?

I dunno, but I could see the Faithful singing "He always lets the Quaffle in" ... I like the obscurity of it, like "We want Weder!"

I don't know.  With something like 5 million copies sold in the first day, I hardly think this qualifies as "obscure".
