Last game before the home opener! Let's finish off this road trip with a W.
Going forward, will start to include the lines on these threads

Thanks, Dunc.
For once, the derp on WHCU dies right on time.
Interesting to see Seger out. Penney and Wallace back from the galloping trots.

And Jack O'Brien wearing two different numbers.

Ouch. First shot.

AIAB
Suboptimal.
Not ideal... good news is we got lots of time for comeback!
DeSantis seems like a real find.
This is the best 0-2 period we've played in a while. "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln,..."
We applied some nice pressure there at the end of the first - nothing to show for it yet though, down 0-2 going into the first intermission
I did not watch the first period. The lineup chart says Keopple was in net. Were the goals soft?
Great pressure forcing another penalty. We are looking very good, we just need to convert.

It was Shane. One was a screen, the other he seemed to be a bit late.
Yes, well. We seem to be clarifying our level in the league. Clearly better than the weak teams, but not as good as the contenders.
As Clarkson goes up 3-0 on another PPG, Ian Shane gets the hook. Replaced by "Remington Keeple." Per the announcers. The umlaut O that gets spelled o-e in English gets mangled . Also heard Kayple. Get it right third try, they did.
NM I forget it's spelled Keopple. But media guides are supposed to have simple pronunciation cues, like the ones you used in radio, not dictionaries
The Cheel PA is so lame. Thank you again Arthur for always being professional and dignified.

Hey! I thought, no politics on the forum.
Hopefully Andreev is okay - That looked bad
So you're saying there's a chance.
Casey and Mike have to cool these idiots down.
Oof, no urgency. At least this isn't stressful. Having 2 of the 3 toughest road games in the first 4 conference games is painful but, well, at last they'll be over.
Bupkis on Cornell's 5-min PP. We're going to score a goal, right?
A note to say that it's so good to hear an old pro like Bob Ahlfeld doing the play-by-play. So much better than the screechy high-pitched young guy they had the last few years.
A quick search turns up that Ahlfeld stepped away from the radio call after 2015, and came back last year. Now they're having him do the TV side, and it's welcome.

Yes. The question is if we want more.
We got a chance!
Now it's stressful.
Berard becoming invisible is such a difference from the first half of last year.

Remington is a Keopple, not a Koeppel.
Nobody wants to play low. That last PP, it seemed like the forwards were allergic to being near the crease.

Dust off the Brenden Locke bat signal.
The coaching staff waits way too long to pull the goalie. Two full minutes too late.

It's not like we do much with an extra attacker. Everyone sits either at the blue line or the half wall.
Looking forward to seeing this team get manhandled by uconn and harvard

Berard is mostly invisible. Malinski is just not the same player he has ever been. He's awful, not hustling, and can't get the puck through traffic.
I'm glad we began to wake up at the end. We can't spot a team two easy goals like we did.

I'm waiting to see who the leaders are here. It's early going, but the guys I expect to take charge aren't. If anything, Rego is getting a lot of involvement on both ends, not many others. It's early, but let's see who steps up.
Early in the year, we lose a winnable game, we say we'll make it up down the stretch. Come March, we didn't and we find it's the difference between being seeded in the 2-3 bracket (versus say Harvard if Q turns out to be the best team in the RS) instead being the 4-seed in the 1-4 bracket (or worse, 5-8) and wind up in the play-Quinnipiac-Friday bracket assuming it's Q not Harvard that's the team to beat. If we go to Placid, I'd like to see Cornell playing both nights.
Last night was a listless, uninspired performance. As others have highlighted, most of our supposed top guys are not performing to expectations. Unless that turns around we are poised for a disappointing season.
That being said we have yet to play on home ice and we have plenty of time to right the ship. But it must start next weekend with two eminently winnable games at home. I'm interested to see our quality of play as much as the results.

I thought we looked pretty good for long stretches, but we couldn't quite put the puck in the net.
It's similar to last gear, where we get outmuscled down low. We don't score the classic Cornell goals where there's a pile of bodies in front of the net. That's okay if it's not who we are, but we gotta figure out who we are.
Shane's gotta get it going, too. But I think we've looked competitive all season except that first period at Q.

I though it was a really good amount of effort.. The main issue is the ability to generate better shots , but the compete level was really high. figure out the PP and much of how the season has played out would change.

I wasn't trying to question the effort. Rather, there is a lack of creativity and execution that is giving us very few grade A scoring opportunities, even on the power play (St. Lawrence may be the exception).
It would be wise to provide Cornell skaters with larger, thicker, heavier protective gear as soon as possible.
Maybe the garters are on backwards. "The rose goes in the front, big guy."
