Title: Projected lines sheet
Post by: HeafDog on November 05, 2022, 09:12:20 PM
A (very nice) Princeton fan gave me the attached projected lines sheet last night, and I must say it's a game changer if you don't happen to somehow have all the lines memorized. But I can't seem to find this sort of thing anywhere on the internets. Does anyone know where to get it? It also looked like he had the same thing for Princeton, so bonus points if there's somewhere where one can them for every team.

Also, while we're on the subject but less importantly, do the different lines have names, à la NHLPA Hockey for the Sega Genesis circa early nineties ("Scoring 1", "Scoring 2", "Checking", etc.)?

Double bonus if someone can get me back my 20 year old brain which had  no problem memorizing all the lines (and could often follow the opponent lines on the fly).

Had no idea, thanks Arthur!

They need to stop trying to make "Yell Cornell" happen.  It's so embarrassing.

worked for me.

I didn't realize yell cornell was actually a historical reference.   Looking at that album prompted an old memory for me; Yell Cornell also appears in at least one old Cornell song. It'll be very familiar to Big Red hockey fans.

MY OLD CORNELL
BY WILL A. DILLON 1917
Oh I want to go back to the old days
Those good old days on the Hill.
Back to my Cornell, for that's where they all yell
CORNELL! I yell Cornell (CORNELL!)
Far above Cayuga's waters I hear those chiming bells
For I'm longing and yearning and always returning
To my old Cornell!

Thank you, Rich  I see a great collection of historical references to yelling about Cornell.  I think I remember the Glee Club singing "1875".

It's also in the last line of the sadly seldom-sung "Carnelian and White," in the "Cornell! I yell, yell, yell Cornell!" form as a quotation within the lyrics.

Too bad Lynah Rink doesn't date back far enough to the raccoon coat era.

It does.  There was a revival in the late 50s early 60s for rich old broads (who were, shit, my age) wanting to relive their 1920s college days.

Fun fact: my grandmother (born 1898) was still rocking hers in the 1980s.

Everybody wearing those bulky coats would drop the seating capacity down to 3900.

For what it's worth, the Cornell mens hockey twitter doesn't always post them, but I've always been able to find them on Twitter, posted about an hour before game time. Aaron Snyder (@AaronSnyderCDS) is the primary (and best) Daily Sun hockey reporter and he's generally pretty good at posting a picture of it (especially at home games)

I believe CHN's in game boxes have them.  For some stupid reason they wipe them after the game and go to a different final box which doesn't include them.

These seem to be delayed and don't appear before game a lot of the time
