Back when Binghamton was Div III, 25 to 30 years ago (damn, I'm old), they had a varsity hockey team.

They were doubleplusungood, losing something like 58 in a row at one point.

In the 88-89 and 89-90 season they were 0-45-0 scoring 61 (1.36) and giving up... 575 (12.78).

One would think Binghamton could fare better than -- have you seen the campus in a blighted section of Springfield, Mass? -- American International, which has made the NCAAs in 2019. One wonders if AIC gets a couple students if not athletes from people thinking they're going to American University in DC.

But fast forward 10 years and Binghamton could be an ECAC team if you consider decent academics to be part of the ECAC, uh, mystique.
