It's Senior Weekend (https://cornellbigred.com/news/2022/2/16/mens-ice-hockey-senior-weekend-pits-18-mens-hockey-vs-north-country-foes.aspx). Whatever that is now.
Can the Seniors come back next year, or was that just for this year?
Seems to me this is a good opportunity to let the next three classes do it as they were all affected, then just blow away the restriction and join the rest of college hockey in being reasonable.

< removed for bad math>
ivies since they dont really have scholie limits should just let kids do what the want to stay in school or not.. its really dumb to prevent kids going to an ivy school from continuing on with an education in a grad program but force them to go play someplace else.. isnt that the reason they claim they dont take sports as serious because its school first.

I am guessing that you gave credit for a win/loss if a game was decided in 3-on-3 overtime. I might have to question your morals.

I question his math. How is 22-point Harvard ahead of 23-point Cornell?

game in hand
game in hand usually only matters if you are tied though.. if it was 10 pts to 1 and 4 games in hand i would hardly say the team with 1 pt was ahead even if they could get there eventually

Not to pile on, but Colgate should have 18 points, not 22.

I don't disagree, but they didn't give me much choice other than counting it as a tie after 60, which would have been more of a reach from The Way.
Please tell me this 3x3 shoot out shit all goes away next year? Please? There are levels of Creeping Meatballism I will
never accept.
ask the coaches why they wanted the 3x3
Just tuned in a couple minutes early and got an earful of derp. Jesus fuck.
Ertel and Shane back. Mike is at the rink (!!!) but not behind the bench tonight.

Beautiful skating and goal from Betts there
Now that's a goal from Betts. Pretty.
Quote from: ugarteNow that's a goal from Betts. Pretty.
I've never seen Betts with such a skilled moved.
Looks like SLU gets a major for kneeing at the end of the 2nd!
Colgate now trailing 4-0. RPI and Princeton both winning.
Gad. That PP was deeeeee-pressing.
Does the ice look choppy tonight? Or can we be that sloppy?
Quote from: arugulaDoes the ice look choppy tonight? Or can we be that sloppy?
we're that sloppy. i think we got a good deal on extra-thin stick blades.
Oh look, another overtime game at home.
It is so hard to watch this team bumble their way around the offensive zone.
A well-deserved loss. We're lucky to get a point.
Very poor performance. Any hope that the Union win would turn things around seems like wishful thinking.
Soooooo 2 of our last 3 against clarkson/qpac .... Not great
looks like a team where the young kids have hit the wall and the elder kids not talented enough to take control.. but man how many pucks can one team have bounce over a stick in a game..
This team is putrid. The forwards just fumble the puck around, the defensemen who can actually create offense repeatedly turn the puck over, often in front of their own goal. And the goaltending is mediocre. Cornell is lucky they play so hard on defense or else they'd be a bottom-four team.
The downward trend in performance has dovetailed with Schafer's continued absence. The connection seems more and more evident by the game.
Schafer is a great coach, but he isn't going to save a team getting badly outshot by the 49th best team in the pairwise.

What's maddening is that SLU didn't seem to have a possession advantage. They just shot the fucking puck at the net.
Quote from: ugarteWhat's maddening is that SLU didn't seem to have a possession advantage. They just shot the *** puck at the net
SLU won on hustle, faster transitions and lack of fear.
alot of complaining goes away if they just score on 1 of the many chances from a few ft away..

but they don't! it's not one game! it's that they simply ... don't!

Also, our opponents miss just as many of these chances as we do. Cornell turned the puck over in front of its own net at least three times tonight and none of them went in.
Grasping at straws here, but if they come out and win tonight and in Hamden then what we'll have is a team who can beat or be beaten by anybody any given night. Such teams can be very dangerous in the tournament.
OTOH we could be 5 losses from golf now. What a very strange season. Maybe they're trying to wrap it up as soon as possible to go easy on Mike's heart.

Yeah, well, watching that wasn't particularly good for my heart; I can't imagine it was 100% beneficial for his.

I am screaming a lot at the computer these days, and not in a good way.
It's up to Jim; he started the Q thread.
