Title: [OT] Direct mail weirdness
Post by: ACM on April 26, 2003, 03:05:07 PM
1. [no college hockey content whatsoever] A few weeks ago, I received a mailing, addressed to me, in Ithaca, from Domino's, with phone numbers of outlets to call for their advertised specials. The names of the towns and the area codes of the phone numbers were unfamiliar, so I looked them up. They are in Colorado ...

2. [marginal college hockey content] Today I received two copies of the NCAA's 2003 Publications Catalog. Both were sent to my home address, but addressed to people I've never heard of. So, if any of you is Jerry Taylor or Eleanor Frankel, I have your NCAA Catalog...

I'll entertain any explanations... ::rolleyes::

No explanation here, but I received Andrew Salvador's NCAA Publications catalog.  The street address is mine, and under the name it says "3/30Phone W/Nellie."  As far as I know, I've never met Andrew or Nellie and we've certainly never been roomies.

Eleanor Frankel '87 used to be the Assistant Sports Editor at the Sun.  Perhaps she used to live at your address?

In fact, (Anna) Eleanor Frankel (a classmate of mine, though I don't know her personally) still lives in Ithaca (per Alumni Directory).

Sounds like the NCAA needs a DBA.
