It's been awhile since we've had a new commitment, so a new thread seemed in order with George Fegaras's (http://ojhl_site.wttstats.pointstreak.com/playerpage.html?playerid=11806866&seasonid=20521) recent commitment to Cornell.
He's a big defenseman who certainly seems to have offensive capabilities with 11 points in 11 games in the OJHL.
The future commitments as a group seem to be getting bigger again (http://www.tbrw.info/?/seasons/2022/2022_Future_Players.html). Hopefully they are as skilled and fast as the last few classes.

And it seems there's some really talented kids in this group. Devlin is Heisenberg's top-rated recruit in the Ontario/Eastern Canada region, with Fegaras at #17 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/143p8uRk2ajt4YCZ_Xx1z3rdKeNcOXj-KK4cirID5rro/edit#gid=484056954)

Dalton Bancroft said, "There were a few schools that I was talking to, however it was an easy decision. My parents and I thought it was the best fit for my play and education. The history of Big Red is astonishing; the alumni, the names that have come through, it is top tier. We are overwhelmed about the news, and my teammates have been very supportive."
Dalton's father Steve Bancroft, "We are ecstatic he can go to such an amazing school. When I went through junior hockey, the landscape was a lot different. The school route was not the same calibre that it is now." He continued, "To be able to go to an Ivy league school, to get a degree from Cornell, you cannot put a measurement on that."

This guy is already 20. Probably not a highly regarded prospect, with all due respect :'(
He's currently the leading scorer in his league. Think Yanni Kaldis was 20 when he committed. Some kids develop later.

We've had a lot of success with older players, in my opinion. Maybe he's less heralded in terms of a professional future, but there's still a lot of collegiate success to be had.

Cornell won a national title with a 29-year-old tri-captain.

His 4 seasons in the OJHL:

For point of reference, Riley Nash had 87 points in 55 games his last season at Salmon Arm. Of course he was an 18 year old playing in a tougher league, but 1.86 points per game is impressive nonetheless and shows he's become a dominant player at his level.

With the captain on the sidelines because the NCAA practice age discrimination back then.

When Marian Mosko comes to Cornell, he'll be the second Slovak to play here, the other being Frank Kovac '00. Interestingly, he could team with Czech Ondrej Psenicka '25, creating a Czechoslovakian line. Slovakia and the Czech Republic split apart in 1992, the culmination of the Velvet Revolution.
Dalton Bancroft is still leading the OJHL in points (39 in 21 games). Btw 21 teams play in the OJHL.

The OJHL has produced lots of terrific players over the years. Just some of the NHL talent that played in the OJHL include Zach Hyman, Barclay Goodrow, Josh Bailey, Mitch Marner, John Tavares, Darnell Nurse, and Jordan Bennington.

Hummm. Played for Naniamo: that's a pretty good pipeline.
I wonder if he's any relation to Cam?
Doubt it as he's from Vancouver. Intriguing prospect - currently 3rd in BCHL in points, & 2nd in goals.
He was committed to UCONN. As a 20-year old he's putting up great numbers in what we know is an excellent junior league.

I was wondering, as he will be 21 prior to entering. It makes sense he is a decommit. He has had very good scoring numbers in the past and I assumed he had been committed earlier. Seems like a fantastic pick up.

For one thing Miami has struggled on the ice for a few years, and/or perhaps his academics at the time were such that he wasn't Ivy material. Or I could be completely off-base as to his reasons.

If someone has an opportunity to escape Ohio, they should take it.
He realized that Miami was in Ohio, not Florida. The warm winter factor was thus negated.

LMFAO Yeah, they did.
More important than his weather preferences, his record shows him often averaging a point/game or more. He had a drop off in performance when he stepped up to the USHL in 2018-19, but in the current season, at Madison in the USHL, he's played in 22 games and scored 9 goals and 13 assists. Given his size, he reminds me of Cam Donaldson. I hope I'm right.
