Another program that needs to be discontinued. Nowhere near as bad as football though.

Disagree, Just like the football program, all it needs is support from the AD and administration.

Basketball team was sorta average-ish for the Ivy League pretty recently weren't they? Football a different level of awful. Plus it's worth keeping basketball around just in case we somehow stumble into another sweet 16 team this century.
This is Steve Donahue's 7th season at Penn and polls have the Quakers fourth. Donahue is now 59. I wonder if Philadelphia is where he completes his career. Metro Philadelphia is his home town. Maybe 2009-2010 and the Sweet Sixteen at Cornell was his defining moment. That was an exciting year for Cornell.
The polls also have a very clear third tier: Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia.

Hoops made the Ivy tourney in '18 (okay, their league record was just 6-8) and made a pay-to-play post-season tourney in '19 with a .500 Ivy record. We just gotta find out if Earl can recruit.

He hasn't been able to bring in some talented front court players with height, hopefully he will soon.

Earl has recruited 6 guys of 6'7 or taller who will see their first action this year. You have to think a couple with pan out, right?
If you are into computer models (https://barttorvik.com/conf.php?year=2022&conf=Ivy) there is a clear top half and a clear bottom half of the league. IMHO, there aren't enough returning Cornell minutes to have any idea how good the team will be.

In college sports few returning minutes are usually a good predictor of a finish near the bottom.

A team's projected finish is roughly inversely proportionally to their rank alphabetically.

If Facebook is now Meta, maybe we should rebrand to Zornell?

Have you ever felt that for a theoretical team that goes, say, 5-22, it would be a good sign if all the starters last year had graduated?
