What a difference two years makes. The coaches and the media (https://cornellbigred.com/news/2021/9/27/mens-ice-hockey-mens-hockey-picked-fourth-in-ecac-hockey-preseason-polls.aspx) both pick us to finish fourth, although we did receive one first-place vote in the coaches' poll. We didn't have a single player selected før the preseason All-ECAC team.

Let's hope that we can surprise a few people. I have faith in Mike!!
4th is pretty optimistic.
I just want to see them play better as the season progresses and then maybe put together a little post-season run. It will take some time to rebuild.
Let's be honest. We have an untested goalie and a lot of underclassmen.
I'm happy with 4th, especially since the top two are teams that played last year. And #3 is Sucks, who always profit from poll inflation.

Indeed, a lot rides on hoping at least one of the new goalies step up. If so we have plenty of talent on the roster.

I've only been a fan since McKee, but I don't think I've ever seen bad goalie play out of Cornell. A little afraid of what that would look like. Scrivens' first year when he split time with Davenport was a little ugly, maybe.
FWIW, The RPI Red Army picks Cornell third. (http://redarmy.union.rpi.edu/?p=475)

Quote from: ursusminorUnfortunately, Union still has not released their 2021-22 roster because they suck. And, This may be a surprise to some people, but this Yale team is absolutely garbage.
Tell us what you really think!! :-)

I had to read that twice myself. Does that mean I am not a true engineer?
Wait! I am an Engineer, not an engineer. :-)
Weren't Howe and Shane fairly well regarded goalie recruits? Have they just not developed as expected? They would've needed to recruit a successor to Galajda even had the pandemic cancelation not happened last year.
Howe's final 2 were Cornell & Boston College, so it's fair to say he was highly recruited.

And actually it's 3 straight Cups. 1 was shared with Q.
So I guess RPI Engineers can't count either. This CU Engineer can count, I hope::dribble::

FWIW, Neutral Zone ranked both at 3.50 stars which is mediocre for D-I hockey players. See https://www.neutralzone.net/mens/educational-blog-post/neutral-zone-star-ratings-player-rankings/.
Two years ago, Howe played in the BCHL which is considered an offensive league, so he probably is somewhat better than his GAA there. He shared goalie duties there for a while with RPI's incoming Jack Watson.
