Good news: the ECAC site (https://www.ecachockey.com/men/index) has the video links to both games of interest today.
Bad news: the Harvard feed is already frozen.
Edit: UMass audio (http://player.listenlive.co/41631).
Today's schedule:
03:00 Harvard 0 UMass 4 (Manchester)
04:00 Ohio State 0 Denver 2 (Fargo)
06:30 Notre Dame - Clarkson (Manchester)
07:30 AIC - St. Cloud (Fargo)

working great. Cale Makar is pretty good
1 or 2 empty seats
It looks like the Harvard fan didn't both to make the trip to Manchester.
come one, let's be fair, it's like 50 miles!
A shame to see so few fannies in the seats.
and almost rush hour

It must be the garbage bandwidth at my work.
Only the best tech in defense of the nation. Enjoy your next flight!

I heard the UMass color guy say during a stoppage that he could hear somebody crush a plastic cup in the stands. That is quiet.
Quote from: scoop85A shame to see so few fannies in the seats.
So I'm at Manchester & not only is it not full, but there is no noise. I expected that from Harvard, but nothing from UMASS either. AHL games have more enthusiasm.
Harvard is outplayed territorially & shots, but Lackey looks good and some nice Harvard breakaways.
Harvard losing because of course.
Lackey looked terrible on the wrap-around attempt and UMass put in the rebound.
This game isn't on ESPN+ but rather ESPN2, so apparently the subscription to the former won't do much.
But if you have cable, you can stream it on espn.com by signing in with your cable account
A terrifically entertaining 1-0 game IMO
Harvard down 3-0 with 8 minutes left. They get the honor of being first ECAC team to get eliminated from this year's NCCA tournament!
4-0 final as the seventeenth attempt at an empty net finally goes in.
So it ain't gonna be a Cornell-Harvard final in Buffalo, apparently.

We knew that.
It will be Cornell - Clarkson. Upstate. Again (http://www.tbrw.info/seasons/1970/box19700321.pdf).
Watching the Notre Dame - Clarkson game. Nice to hear Brekke's whistle.
Clarkson really giving it all they got, leading 2-1 late in the 2nd.
And that's a bullshit call.
Omg Mr Bee is beating St Cloud after 1!
It's now 2-0!
Notre Dame pulls goalie, Clarkson still up 2-1 with 2:39 to go.
SHIT.
That felt like watching us...
Quote from: 75erThat felt like watching us...
Makes sense. They essentially are us.
I wouldn't mind trading ECAC and NC$$ titles with Casey the next decade.
Quote from: Sean RichlinWhat I like about QPeck is that they lost to Brown and didn't like losing to Brown.
Quote from: Barry MelroseThis overtime could be over early or it could go on all night.
Kiely stops Burke on the penalty shot!
Per USCHO St. Cloud got one back and trails 2-1 with 8 to go.
Buccigross is bad enough during regulation; he rises to insufferable in overtime.
Please end this soon!
anyone able to stream the AIC game?
i can stream it on the computer but not on my tv

I was able to get it ESPN3 on Xfinity no problem. Couldn't get the CLK/ND game, though, I'm guessing they didn't care enough to list it as it's past its regulation time.
yeah it says on my rokus not available but works fine on the pc.
Poop. ND takes over in the last part of the first ot period and finally gets a goal after a zillion chances.
Shit.
As soon as Melrose said *I don't think he's going to give one up* about the Clarkson goalie I figured it was a jinx. Notre Dame pots one within probably 20 seconds.
CHN says 35 secs left in the other game. Still 2-1 AIC.

Don't bother. Game over. Go AIC!
Busts my bracket, but who cares!
30-6-3 and they end the season on a losing streak. Do you believe in miracles?
Holy shit. AIC wins.

Forget it Jake, it's St. Cloud.
Bzzzzzzzzz!!!!!
My God, never read Urban Dictionary (https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=St.%20Cloud) without a stiff drink.

I signed up for Hulu to get the channels that Spectrum doesn't provide me. How does one get ESPN3? It's my understanding it's internet only.

I'll be honest, given it was Urban Dictionary, I was expecting on the definitions to be an elaborate sex act. I don't need to tell you what the "Cloud" would be....

For those with cable use the ESPN app and click Watch. Then scroll to the bottom where the ESPN channels are listed. There you choose ESPN 3. From there I could also stream from my tablet through Cromecast. I could not steam directly to my Samsung TV as I can with some apps.
I don't know if it works differently with Hulu.

Yes
AIC taking down St. Cloud State is sweet.
Still is in second place to Holy Cross taking out the Gophers in 2006. I  Tyler McGregor.
Eden the Elf and I are at a nose work competition this weekend (I was pulling for the Manchester Regional). Hoping that the ESPN Plus archives the games and allows you to watch later.
Let's Go Red!!

Nice thing about Melrose and Buccigross doing the Clarkson and Harvard games is that for once they're not doing ours.
I was distracted by the end of the SCSU-AIC game. How did Barry go from convinced the "last entry" was offsides to sure the goal would count?

Conclusive replay. Reverse angle showed the puck was a good foot over the line before a skate crossed.

JTW I actually don't mind either of them in the flow of the game. It's those moments after whistles that I mind.
Frankly, I'm really tired of people treating Buccigross like he's the Pope of college hockey on social media. His self-promoting merchandise with a teeth-grinding regionalism hashtag makes me sick.

Pretty much anyone doing College Hockey on ESPN shows their ignorance when they open their mouths. All they know is last year's tournament and big name schools.
The first day of the NCAAs served as a good reminder that no matter how tough it can be as a Big Red sports fan, hockey is full of tough breaks and they affect everyone else too. Each of the four teams that lost yesterday had a really difficult call go against them, or they badly outplayed the opponent and still lost, or they lost in the final seconds/OT, or some combination thereof. There is a massive amount of luck involved in a single-elimination hockey tournament. Bad beats can and will happen. Unless you're Yale.

Somehow the authors of the quotes got swapped. Two things irritate me about Buccigross: First, his rising and falling inflection makes it sound like every play was almost a goal, but turned into a disappointing near miss. Second, like many ESPN commentators, he's addicted to catch phrases: every wrist shot for a goal is a "twisted wrister".
Of course, it's always bugged me since the ESPN national announcers took over the NCAAs and displaced real college hockey institutions like Bob Norton (annoying as he was in his own way).

Watching ND-UMass, I hear it now. Every shot is a SHOT!!!! And he calls the game like he's yukking it up on SportsCenter. Thanks for ruining something that I had been able to ignore up to this point.

I'm watching the game, too. These guys suck. Whatever happened to play-by-play? All they do is talk about anything but what's happening on the ice.

Every PBP announcer should be required to work in radio for a minimum of 10 years before being allowed anywhere near a TV camera. They're just lazy - they figure they don't need to describe the action since you're watching it anyway.

Both of these are the ESPNication of sports. Everything is about them and their broadcast and their ironic chemistry and their winking and their cross-marketing of their other shows, not the event. ESPN is the equivalent of an endless series of annoying pop up ads.
The 5% of the time they try to describe the play it is the same dozen hackneyed jock cliches and narratives, delivered in pompous, stentorian tones. "No quit in these kids." Oh for fuck's sake, just call the game and let it speak for itself you self-important fucking fucks.
(This has been Trotsky, not Anne. I'm sure you are surprised.)
