Michigan reeled off 3 goals in 58 seconds in the 2nd period tonight.
Not even close to a record. Cornell scored 3 goals in 24 seconds in an 8-2 victory over Princeton on Feb. 28, 1976.
Thanks for the info. I looked at the official NCAA records but they only list the fastest 2 goals

According to TBRW (http://www.tbrw.info/seasons/1976/box19760228.pdf) it was 3 goals in just 15 seconds.

Greg transcribed the time of the third goal incorrectly. On the source material I have, it's clearly 2:29, not 2:20.

That's still only 24 seconds, so, no record for Michigan.
CJ Young, from some school in Cambridge/Allston, scored a natural shorthanded hat trick in 49 seconds in 1988.

Over a period break so, meh, big deal.

QuoteBill Mosienko scored three times in 21 seconds for the Chicago Black Hawks at the New York Rangers on March 23, 1952.
But NHL, so, boring.
Our fastest 3 goals is now fixed (http://www.tbrw.info/seasons/1976/box19760228.pdf).

As a freshman, Carlo Ugolini scored 4 goals in 51 seconds. He had 7 goals in Cornell's 20-2 win over the Mount Royal Eagles of Montreal.

I was there. On Ugolini's unassisted goal he just won the face-off to himself and skated right toward the goal and scored.

And Ugolini was pissed that he didn't get an assist for winning the faceoff.
