Tonight's Canadian opponent Laurentian beat Vermont on Thursday 4-1. The same Vermont team that already beat highly-touted Michigan at Yost. Probably not our usual opening cupcake?
IIRC, prior meetings with Laurentian were very physical, so let's just try not to get anyone injured and/or arrested tonight.
Wut.
QuoteAlex Green capped the Red team's 8-6 victory over White with a goal on the 42nd shootout attempt in the annual Red-White Game on Saturday night at Lynah Rink.

I am really hoping that's a typo.
Edit: it's not a typo.
that would explain some of the issues we had for so long scoring on a penalty shot

But, both the men & women scored nicely on penalty shots in the regulation game... Go figure...
2-0 early vs Guelph with Locke and Donaldson scoring.
4-0 end of 1st. Some nice offense, but Guelph's defense is, shall we say, porous.
Is Bliss healthy?

Nope.
Meanwhile, Guelph appears to be skating a Reycroft
and a McCutcheon.

According to the Guelph webpage, it's R
aycroft. And McCutcheon is from Colorado.
So I think neither is related to Cornell.
Wow. We got TWO shorties! On The same PK!
6-zip and a beauty by Bauld.
Anyone else getting intermittent audio on ESPN+?
Not me. Mine's good.
7-0 now. Mullin with a great (albeit low percentage) goal.
Interesting (to me anyway) how Grady pronounces "Cairns" as "Carins"

Yep.
Speaking of, he's still not ready for prime time. Lots of mistakes. But he was drafted mid range so somebody saw something.
7-0 final.

Depends on your definition of "healthy". He was fit enough to play regularly in the Red/White game last night (which, I have to admit, came as a big surprise).
That's more than we've seen him on ice in the past two years.
With 10 defense men probably can only dress 6 or 7 for each game - I would assume Ryan is coming along at a pace that is best for him.
Team looked good in their shooting and offensive zone passing. Shots in the game were 36 - 20 in our favor I believe and we had at least two posts and a crossbar that I saw at the scoreboard end of the rink. We had a bit of edge in team speed definitely.

According to the lineup sheet, which includes some pronunciation guidance, he is correct.

We were definitely the better team, but remember that Guelph was playing their 4
th game in 5 "nights". That has to slow you down.
I wonder what's going on with Jeff Mallott? He's struggling to get ice time. He played in the Red/White game and I think that's all. Coach said he'll be back next week, but why withhold playing time from a good player?
We haven't seen any Song yet, right? Injured?

The Daily Sun reports (https://cornellsun.com/2018/10/21/notebook-mens-hockey-thrashes-guelph-in-final-exhibition-game/) that he had a minor injury.
Cam didnt play last weekend.. Mallott have have been dinged or they know what he brings and want to see the FR play as much as they can..It will be interesting to see how we use the extra player this year if we try to stay with depth on D or get s few lines of time for the Fr they want to develop
Haiskanen didn't play the third. Any report on the severity of his injury?
